LIK is, according to her, a perfectly ordinary VUX that was sent to Alpha Cerenkov I for spurious reasons by jealous shipmates. She was actually sent there because, while she finds humans themselves repulsive, she likes their clothing aesthetics (especially old lolita fashion) and had been buying smuggled human clothing and clothing patterns with her navy stipend.
She deeply resents her current situation (she's surrounded by FREAKS), even as she appreciates having more people to talk openly about human fashion with and acknowledges that the alternative would have been quietly getting shived while on patrol or executed for actually trumped up charges.
Generally, LIK is vain, selfish, and shockingly spoiled for a soldier due to her family's wealth. She's getting better, but she's still pretty young and has never really had to actually deal with consequences for her actions before.
