Summary

Vincent Norris is someone you wouldn't expect to be half human with his looks. With the horns on his head and his pointed ears, one would think that he was a full demon. Turns out that's not a case. Vincent is a demon/human hybrid that is the descendant of demon Lilith and the human (well at the time) Michael. As the son of Lilith, he bears the 'Scars of Sin'. These scars are what enabled the male to take the powers of demons and used them in forms based on the seven deadly sins. He is a paranormal mercenary, private investigator and vigilante Devil Hunter dedicated to exterminating evil demons and other malevolent supernatural forces. He's honestly doing this because it pays well.

Personality

As the leader of the Watchers, Vincent is regarded as a perceptive and intuitive member of the group. Looking at him, one wouldn't think the male would have a laidback and flippant attitude that allows him to be able to avoid getting too worked up about anything or anyone. This leads to the other members of Watcher joking about the male being the wise, old man despite being the third oldest of the group. He doesn't seem bothered by it and even makes jokes about it to any demon he encounters by citing he's "too old for this shit". It's useful as it allows him to trick those demons in believing that he always acts this way as a means to get them to drop their guard. He rarely shows any signs of arrogance and is rather modest of his abilities. This could be due to his time as a Demon Hunter and what he learned as a result of the demons he encountered from it. You would rarely find a moment where the male is stern, aloof or cold towards anyone he cares about unless the situations call for it.

It's not a no-brainer that Vincent is a solitary, and matter-of-fact person. He carries a level of indifference when it comes to talking about his past or referring to anything regarding his attitude when he was young. He has no problem speaking bluntly about sensitive topics and occasionally ignores his 'teammates' on occasion. Granted, it's not shocking he does ignore them given how they act. However, this isn't to say he's the type that tolerates anyone severely hurting. Severely hurting anyone from the Watcher (or anyone he loves) is the only thing that can make Vincent cast aside his normally stoic demeanor, causing him to attack without mercy or his usual sense of sportsmanship. It should also be noted that Vincent can be a cynical and shrewd individual with a twisted sense of humor. This can be largely hinted at through his interactions with as his interactions with humans haven't exactly been the best in the while. Vincent is frequently shown to be foul-mouthed to the point it wouldn't be shocking if he cursed multiple times in an hour.

Appearance

Standing at the height of 6'6" (198.1 cm) and weighing 213.4 lbs (96.8 kg), Vincent is shown to be the tallest (and heaviest) member of the Watchers. In fact, it appears that the male is also the tallest in his family with his mother being a few inches shorter than him. He has a dark chestnut brown skin that has a slight red tint to it. The male is shown to have a robust, broad built that does make a bit more intimidating especially when it does seem to add to his height. He has six horns: two large ones positioned above his forehead with golden markings along the tip with a slight curve to it and four smaller ones positioned on the side of his head (two on the left and two on the right). He has slightly long, pointed ears that jet back slightly. He has a short (buzz cut), dark brown hair with two line ups along the side. He has a well-trimmed beard that matches the color of his hair and blends into it. He also has lower canine protruding out of his mouth like the lower tusk of an Orc.

Wardrobe

The male is seen wearing a dark red dress shirt with folded cuffs and a shoulder holster resting over it. His shirt is tucked into his dark blue trousers that stop at his ankles that are held up by a brown belt with a golden buckle. His trousers just barely cover his brown work boots. Completing the outfit is a dark brown coat that comes down to his knees with golden buttons.

  • The scar across Vincent's nose came from his first encounter with Lucius. Turns out a scythe infused with bless magic can really scar the shit out of a demon.
  • The golden markings on his horns are runes meant to partially contain his powers he used when he use his Devil Trigger.
  • He does have scars on his body hidden underneath his clothes. While it doesn't really take long for them to go away, he does often get new ones due to his profession(s).
  • With how often Vincent uses Wrath, the male does have to get new coats as the flames used from its pyrokinesis from Wrath's form always result in his coat being scorched.

Story

Early Life

Humanity is a strange oddity. For life to exist, one has to be composed of the seven heavenly virtues and seven deadly sins. A living being isn't always made even when it comes to the virtues and sins. After all, life is far from being perfect. There are times where one is more sinful than the other. There are times where one is mostly virtuous than others. Virtues and sins need each other to survive. Without both, one just simply becomes nothing more than a husk. This brings us to the existence of Lilith.

Lilith is the Queen of the Sins, having become their leader after fighting against them with help from the Legendary Dark Knight. For years, she spent most of life monitoring the balance of sin within the world. She paid no mind to the nonsense that occured in demon world as it was A) too much of a headache and B) she had too much to worry about. Evetually, she would grow bored and linger to the human where she will meet her human man named "Michael Norris" that worked at a bar. Eventually, the two would fall in love and become engaged. Some time would past before eventually, they had their son: Vincent.

It was made clear the moment that Vincent was born that there was no used hiding the demonic nature of Vincent. With his tusks and horns being prominent, it was downright impossible. As such, Vincent was made early that he was a half human/half demon hybrid. He would become more familiar with his demonic half as his mother's sins would act as his teacher as the boy couldn't go to public school without being feared. This didn't bother Vincent as personally he wasn't all that fond of humans since he saw them as boring. Lilith and Michael did all they can to drive the boy away from the path of anything related to dealing with demons. Lilith did train him in a situation where he could be targeted...and honestly she was hoping it would stay that way.

Too bad that didn't last.

Devil May Cry 3

If you told Lilith that Lucifer was going to stage a rebellion against her, she wouldn't believe you. Not because she trust him. It was mostly because she didn't think he would be stupid enough to try to cause problems. However, that was very much not the case. Alongside being a mother, Lilith was a mentor of several beings who would have the ability to make great use of the sins themselves: Lucifer, Mammon, Levithan, Beelzebub, Belphegor, Asmodeus and Satan. These students were meant to be her knights. They were supposed to be as loyal to her as the sins themselves. She haven't thought Lucifer would be so prideful that she would go against her and use the sins for help.

He didn't expect all of them to win.

In fairness, they had taken Michael and Vincent hostage so she was forced to restrict herself in fear they would be used as a shield. When she was weakened, she would be sealed away alongside her husband. However, 19 year old Vincent was spared. Though I supposed being beaten and tossed aside like trash may not be considered "spared". The young man would end up being left in his family home, aching in pain. However, a fire burned in his heart. A fire that would force him standing and yanked out the demonic blood that laid dormant within him. He would stumble into his mother's room and grasped what was once her weapon: Acedia. When the talking weapon was informed of what happened to Lilith, she promised to aid the young boy in saving his parents and rip apart Lucifer.

Making used of what the sins taught him, Vincent returned to the demonic realm to reach Sinim the land of Sin. He tore through various demons that stood in his path. He even stood face to face with Hati and Skoll as they stood on his path. While he may have struggled against them, he destroyed them and took their souls as they forced into the gauntlets Vice. In his hunt, he stood face-to-face with Satan, the Warrior of Wrath. In the end, he would defeat him and absorb his soul into his body. Bearing the scars of sin, he would make his power his own, unlocking his first sin power.

Eventually, he would stand before Lucifer after gaining the experience he need to face. The battle between them was bloody, but Vincent would slay him through determination and spite. Once defeated, he would stand over Lucifer shaky body and absorb the man's soul. The sight of what happened and now realizing what Vincent was capable of, the sins fled as Vincent momentarily becomes overwhelm with the power from Lucifer. However, the powers of Pride would be resticted through help of Acedia and his now freed mother. With the family back together, Vincent finally settled on what he wished to achieve: eliminating demons and hunting down the sins to make their power his own.

Devil May Cry

Almost a decade would past with the events of the above, and Vincent has settled in a city known as "Cornelia". By now, he has opened up a demon-hunting shop known as "The Watchers". When he isn't dealing with the occasional demon attempting to stab him, he is usually out on a job. It is revealed that his mother has given birth to his younger sister: Kayla. Unlike her older brother, she maintained more of her human blood appearance. For Vincent's father sake, they seemed set on having her live a normal life (to Vincent's amusement). Vincent has also appeared to have slayed the Warrior of Gluttony (Beelzebub) and has built a bond between the sins he has (outside of Pride). Acedia has also become a permanant weapon of his.

While returning from a mission, he would spot a young man being chased by a strange fox-like creature. After going toe to toe with the creature, the creature would eventually retreat. The young man would introduced himself as Yasuhiro, a (Zenko) Kitsune that serves under a God known as "Inari". The creature that he was being chased by was a similar (nogitsune) Kitsune that went by the name of "Natsu". Natsu once served under Inari but ended up rebelliong against him. Despite this, the two continued to be friends. However, one day, Natsu started to act different and started to change. Eventually, he started killing other kitsunes and really anything with a pulse. Worried, Yasuhiro took their Hoshi no tama to try to get them to listen...only to find it was tainted. He tried to look for anyone familiar with corrupted, but anyone who got close ended up being killed.

Though some pleading and bribing, Vincent decided to travel with Yasuhiro to investigate what caused their Hoshi to be tainted and a solution as to how to cleanse it in a strange roadtrip that involved killing demons and strangely enough yokai. In the end, they would learn that Natsu's corruption came from the hands of Asmodeus, the Warrior of Lust. Carrying the knowledge of what Kitsune are capable of, Asmodeus took possession of Natsu's soul and corrupted as a means to gather more souls to make themselves stronger. Through some reflection and help from Lilith, Vincent would suceed in ripping Asmodeus from Natsu's soul and eventually kill them in one final battle with Natsu's and Yasuhiro's help. With this, Vincent is able to claim another sin into his soul.

With his mission accomplished, Yasuhiro offers Natsu a chance to once again become a zenko. However, Natsu declines as they enjoy their freedom and feel they owe Vincent their lives. Despite Vincent attempts to ensure them that was unneeded, Vincent and Natsu decide to work together with Natsu acting as the one to gather intel for Vincent.

Devil May Cry 2

It was been years since the events of the above, and The Watcher's business has been booming. Natsu and Vincent has spent their years getting to know each other and doing what they can to work on their business. Sure, they had a few one night stands. However, it wasn't out of passion. It honestly helped past the time in the slower parts of the day. During those short years, Vincent stumbled upon Belphegor (Warrior of Sloth) and Mammon (Warrior of Greed). Once again, he continues to build his bonds with his sin...outside of Pride of course. One day, he will deal with that.

It would be around this time that his younger sister's birthday would happen. With his mother nagging him about his inability to drop by when his sister has her birthday, Natsu heads to his hometown of Eastbourne with Natsu left in charge of the office. What was supposed to be a nice, simple weekend of "family fun" would become a game of hell for Vincent as he finds himself dealing with a sudden appearance of demons (which is unusual as his mother's influence typically tend to keep them away) and a fallen angel that has a strange obsession with him and his sins. Not wanting to ruin his sister's birthday week, Vincent decides to use spend as much time as he can, slaying whatever demons he can and trying to find ways to avoid telling his parents what was happening. Why? Well...he might have been a bit too stubborn to tell them.

In the end, Vincent would learn that the fallen angel (Lucius) had sent the demons with the purpose of seeing how strong he is and how skilled he was with the sins. All of this was a test. Needless to say, Vincent was pissed and went all out in kicking his ass. Even after all of this, just as he is about to enjoy his sister's birthday party, it was cancelled at the last minute as she gotten sick. Filled with spite and hatred, Vincent forced Lucius to work under him to repay him for the trouble he put him through. Lucius delightfully accepts...not that he had a choice.

Devil May Cry 4

Everything started when Vincent took that job from that demon. Even after it's been years since he dealt with Lucius and much more for when he dealt with Natsu, you would think he would be better at picking up demons. As it turns out, that's not the case. Nothing has changed since the above events. Outside of Natsu being amused by how much Lucius pissed off Vincent and Lucius constantly finding ways to fight Vincent, things have been pretty chill. Well unless you count Vincent hiring Alistair Blackheart as something new. However, Vincent finds it to be boring. He needed someone to help run their website and handle tech shit. Alistair happens to answer the job postig fast and was too stubborn to quit even at the risk of getting hurt. Then again, he was also a weaponsmith...so I suppose that also helped.

Regardless, the demon that Vincent decided to take a job from went by "Levi". You would think that Vincent had enough sense to register who exactly Levi truly was since their name more or less hint their true identity. However, Vincent was a bit behind on the bills for the week so he couldn't afford to think hard about it. Levi wanted him to receive something from him at a lab guarded by humans. The idea of killing humans wasn't something that bothered him. He had his moments where he had to kill them, and he didn't need to deal with remorse as these humans were involved in a cult [Angels of the Lost] that done some fucked up things. As such, the Watcher would head to Wolford, where this lab would be found.

It is there that the group would see a strong prescence of strange demons. They had the vibe of demons...but help unatural. Further investigation would reveal that these were artificial demons. The group would investigate and find that that this cult wanted demons to take over the world and eradicate humankind. To them, they felt as if his demons were the true "angels" and doing this will allow them to ascend to demonhood. When they finally go to the lab, they will cleave through various cult members and arrive in front of the large test tube they were to received. However, the moment Vincent goes to grab it, something calls out from within the test tube. When that happens, Vincent pulls off the sheet, covering it....

....only to see a child that looked to be around a few month old.

Realizing the oddity of what Levi asked for and the nature of this town, Vincent finally resgister that the situation was far more sinister. He then freeds the child and sends the Watcher's off to ensure the safety of the child. When they leave, he proceeds to destroy the lab and those with great tie with the cult to ensure no one else would get hurt while eliminating any artifical demons that couldn't be saved. Once finished, he finally seeks Levi, who reveals himself as Levianthan (Warrior of Envy). Levianthan had sought power and was hoping to make great use of the boy that he sent Vincent to grab. Enraged, Vincent fought the demon and kills him before taking his soul. With this, Vincent finally slayed all of the champion of the sins.

Returning to the Watchers, Vincent decides to take in the boy and raise him as his own. He argues the reason he did this is to ensure the child would have a better chance at life and gain the happiness that he would have been denied of. The young baby boy would be named "Liam".

Devil May Cy 5/Fallen Inferno

Business is booming at the Watcher's Headquarters as per usual. Nothing really changed when it comes to the dynamic between Natsu, Lucius and Vincent. The three are still...as strange as always with Alistair having accepted the oddity of the trio. Liam continues to adjust with his new life with his found family, aging as slow as human. Much like his adopted father, he has been spending his time being taught by the sins. With Liam's prescence, Vincent ends up getting a apartment as a means to seperate his worklife from his homelife. That and not to deal with Lucius on a daily basis. When he's working, he typically either leaves his son with Natsu and/or Alistair. If they are busy, he simply ask his mother to watch over him.

After finishing a mission, Vincent returns to his office to find Liam being taught how to use portals from Natsu. This is a fact that Vincent isn't pleased with as portals can be quite dangerous. Despite Natsu attempts to reassure him that Liam is fine, the young demon ends up opening a gateway that leads to a white haired half demon/half human leaving it. Something about Dante causes Vincent to immediately battle the man with the fight ending with the two managing to drain each other out. If you told Vincent that his son managed to drag one of the sons of Sparta from the demon world into the office, displaced the other brother and Vincent managed to somehow go toe to toe with him....honestly he wouldn't be shocked. His life is very odd. However, now he's stuck with this idiot...who seems like he's having a fun time experiencing new things.

Fighting style

The worse mistake you can ever make when facing Vincent is assuming that he fights like a brute. That simple mistake can cost you your life. Vincent often starts his fights off purposely sloppy and loose. The purpose of this is to allow Vincent to get a idea of how his enemy fights and lower their guard enough to pop off when he finally knows how to deal with them. Each strike he gives channels the sheer physical strength that his demonic blood draws out that can proven to fatal as he starts to refine and tighten his movements. Combined with his access to his sins, the man is able to pull off some impressive combos most wouldn't think he wouldn't be capable of pulling. His preferred battle style is being up close and personal without giving the enemy a chance to breathe to process how to fight him.

Strengths

  • Diversity of battle styles with Sins
  • High physical strength and defense
  • Intelligence allows him to be creativity
  • Refuses to go down easier without a fight

Weaknesses

  • Has the tendency to piss off enemies
  • His wrath can get the better of him
  • Sins influence his personality
  • Isn't the fastest guy in the world
Demonic Powers
Inherited Skill

Difficulty
Mastery

Due to his half-demon nature, Vincent is able to release his demon power in the form of his Devil Trigger. With this, the male can change into his true form and amplify his strength, speed, and healing factor. Due to his connection to the Sins, the male has to actively break the runes on his body to access it due to not having proper control of it. Vincent does have other abilities outside of the form. Vincent possesses incredible raw bodily strength even while in his form. Even without Wrath, the male has no problem beating down a group of thugs without breaking a sweat. His durability allows for him to simply shrug off wounds that would either disable or outright kill a normal demon. His superhuman strength, endurance, and resistance to injury hint at his physical condition being tougher and more efficient than even the strongest of demons. To balance this out, the male is far from being the fastest guy in the world. Similar to Dante, Vincent is able to channel his demon energy into various objects (though he limits himself to just his main weapons). When it comes to weapon proficiency, Vincent is proficient when it comes to axes, gauntlets and any heavy based weapons.

Satanic Wrath [Wrath]
Sinful Style

Difficulty
Mastery

Wrath is a form that Vincent always start off in when it comes to fights. This power of this form grows with his rage to the point that he can potentially smash an enemy through several buildings if he's feeling murderous. Of course, the male's own rage can make it a bit harder for him to think correctly and there are times where he may lose himself to the rage that powers this form if you push him enough. Even without the boost of power he received from being angry, this form is known to be quite strong. In fact, the form itself has enhanced strength and enhanced durability, making the male a physical based tank. This form also seems to come equipped with Pyrokinesis, giving a good chunk of his moves carry a fiery delivery. The flames that emit from his form does increase in heat depending on how rage the male is in at the moment. This form does benefit more when Vincent uses Vice or Acedia.

Asmodeus Lust [Lust]
Sinful Style

Difficulty
Mastery

Lust is a form that Vincent can slip into for combos during battles and stealth-based missions. In this form, the male has Darkness Manipulation. With this, the male's main component is his shadow. With his shadow, the male is able to hide within it to spy on others and avoid detection. It's useful for someone for his specific size. With this form, the male can also have his shadow fight for him. In fact, that's primarily how he fights whenever he's in his form as the being itself serves as a great substitute. Outside of the shadow, this form is not the strongest in the world. As such, it isn't recommended for Vincent to use this form during battles unless when it comes to delivering sneak attacks or provide a bit of distraction. Most of the attacks in this form end of carrying a dark elemental edge to it. The form doesn't rely on any of Vincent's weapons due to the shadow being that comes with it.

Belphegor Sloth
Sinful Style

Difficulty
Mastery

Sloth is a form that is useful for dodging attacks. Sloth gives Vincent good reflexes and agility. This makes someone as big as Vincent capable of weaving through attacks and delivering quick counterattacks. It helps that the form itself has Flash Step. With this power, the male is able to teleport to short distances at a given time. There is a limit to how often he can teleport as teleportation takes a lot of energy and concentration. As such, Vincent avoids using it too often. This form is useful in combination with Lust. When combined, Vincent is able to deliver swift combos that either make it harder for others to hit him or lead the enemy stun. It is amusing that Sloth himself is the fastest form considering the name of the form. This form benefit from the use of Vainglory as it is Vincent's fastest weapon that he has.

Leviathan Envy
Sinful Style

Difficulty
Mastery

Envy is one of Vincent’s trickier yet creative form. Mimicry and power mixture comes into play with this specific form. For Envy, Vincent has access to Imperfect Attack Replication. What this entails is that he is able to replicate the powers of others around himself. It's imperfect in a sense he can't fully copy that power. For example, for a fire demon, he would be able to copy its fire manipulation. However, he wouldn't receive some of the perks that come with it such as protection against the fire he uses. However, to make up for that, he has access to power mixture. With this, he can take two separate powers and combine them to make a 'complete' power. So if he were to say, take the powers of two fire demons, he would have access to 'complete' fire manipulation or hellfire manipulation.

Beelzebub Gluttony [Gluttony]
Sinful Style

Difficulty
Mastery

Gluttony is one of the more stranger forms that Vincent has. Gluttony is shown to be one of Vincent's toughest form. That says a lot considering that he can survive being impaled by several swords thanks to his healing factor as a half demon. This form appears to be tough as a result of his high defenses and his energy absorption ability. There are several ways for him to absorb energy. His more preferred method is kinetic based. With this absorption, the male is able to use the energy from every attack he takes to either provide a quick heal or release the energy built up in a concentrated burst. In terms of healing, he can transfer the healing to others, though he has stated he hadn't fully mastered that art quite yet. This form also possesses electricity manipulation to a minor degree. Vincent has stated this form brings out his more animalistic side.

Mammon Greed
Sinful Style

Difficulty
Mastery

Greed is a form that Vincent only recently mastered. This form gives the male access to desire manipulation. However, the male isn't able to necessary to control one's desire. That is something that Vincent has stated was hard to perform due to the level of skill needed for it. This level of skill is something that the male isn't willing to waste time attempting to gain. However, he is able to channel desire. How? With desire manipulation, Vincent can create and shape illusions, causing one to see, hear, touch, smell and/or taste things which do not actually exist or cause them to perceive things differently from what they truly are. This makes the form more useful when it comes to deceiving the enemy or gaining information from someone being too stubborn for Vincent's liking. This is one of the forms that Vincent seems to have an easy time when it comes to combining with his other forms.

Lucifer Pride
Sinful Style

Difficulty
Mastery

Pride is the first form that Vincent received and one of his more dangerous ones. In this form, Vincent allows the sin itself to actually take control of his body. The sin, often called Lucifer (not to be mistaken with the one absorbed), is described as being a smooth and charming individual that seems to always find the right words to say. He carries himself with pride and has no problem pointing out your flaws. He can be brutally honest with the things he saw and carries a strong craving of power. Technically, Lucifer has been the sin in Vincent that been the most active and seems more intoned with Vincent's demonic side. As such, it should come to no surprise that the male comes with supernatural strength, supernatural durability and supernatural reflexes. He has stated that he has additional abilities that constantly changes every time he takes over Vincent. Vincent rarely use him due to the Lucifer's tendency to not want to give back control.

Inventory

Acedia [Axe]

Acedia is the Vincent's trademark axe (ono) that he typically uses when it comes to melee combat. This weapon is described as having a very large head with a very convex cutting edge and a large scroll-shaped peen opposite to it. He has a sheath covering only the edge of the blade. Acedia is a 'cursed' weapon. This is due to the fact that those who wield her that lack the scars of sin are said to be stripped of their happiness and experience a level of depression almost unworldly. Acedia does not seek to be held by those who lack the scars of sins as she considers them to be unworthy. Acedia is a rather durable and powerful weapon. There are very few weapons, or beings, in this world that are capable of breaking her and they are only a few things that she is unable to cleave into. She also serves the secondary purpose of ensuring that the sins that Vincent keep within him don't escape the male. Being a sentient weapon, Acedia is described as being a very rude weapon, often known to be very snarky and whiny at times.

Vainglory [Pistol]

Vainglory is Vincent's trademark semi-automatic pistol. The weapon is described as a M1911-style handgun chambered for the .45 ACP round. It's a weapon that Vincent doesn't typically use often as the damage it can normally deal isn't anything too special and he’s not typically one that cares about using melee weapons most often than not. The bullets of Vainglory are often distilled with demonic power to provide a decent damage output for its rapid firing and fast draw times. Vainglory is a weapon that he 'burrowed' from one of his clients that didn't pay his bill for taking care of a demon. What? Vincent has a motto when it comes to people who don't pay his bills: If you don't pay, he has to take something for compensation. Sometimes, it's something like television. Sometimes, it's a nice watch. Sometimes, it's a pistol that Vincent has someone to modify . In the case, the person who he ‘borrowed’ still haven’t paid him back so he has been making good use of the weapon. Vainglory is often hidden in the gun holster Vincent has hidden under his coat.

Vice [Gauntlets]

Vices are Vincent's gauntlets that the male uses alongside of his axe during combat. Vices is a pair of black and red gauntlets that are shaped into the head of a wolf with metal plated gloves coming out of the mouth. In some respects, Vices are the slowest weapon that Vincent has with a short range. It's not shocking when you consider that they are gauntlets and rely on Vincent's movements. However, drawing on the demonic energy that Vincent emits, they have the highest damage output with the exception of Acedia when Vincent used her in his 'true form'. Vices are Devil Arms (sentient weapons that are most often than not the manifestation of a defeated Demon's soul) of two wolf demons that Vincent stumbled upon during one of his missions. The demons in question were known as Sköll and Hati.

Vital Stars [Consumable]

Hey you! Yes, you! You ever wanted to fight demons, but you find yourself worrying about potentially dying in the middle of the battle due to your low health? In case, you do. Why not try a Vital Star? What are those? The Vital Star is a green star-shaped stone made through alchemy (or in Vincent's case...a handy Blacksmith). After consuming/absorbing the item, the one who used the item will be revitalize a set amount of the player character's vitality if used. These stars come in small, medium, and large sizes with a large star will restore all of the player character's vitality, while a medium will only restore half, and a small will only restore a quarter, relative to the maximum health gauge. Vincent often like to carry a few small ones on hand for any mission he goes on in case his healing factor isn't fast enough.

Trivia

General

  • Working out the backstory was the most painful experience I ever went through. I had to sit down and do it in one go.
  • Vincent wasn't intended to be a DMC character, but I decided against it mostly due to Dante.
  • Fleshing out Vincent as a a character was hell due to his backstory and power.

Combat

  • A mixture of Kratos from God of War and Asura from Asura's Wrath best summarize Vincent's battle style.
  • I had considered giving Vincent a sword but ended up settling on a axe due to Krato's weapon in God of War (2018).
  • Figuring out the sins powers was honestly the easiest part.

Social

  • Vincent is meant to be my exploration of a much older character that already went through his fair share of growth in terms of their character.
  • Vincent is meant to be a play off a Older and Wise Trope.
  • Working out his relationships with the other members of Watcher took a bit of experimentation with others characters.

Design

  • I originally considered giving Vincent a disguise form but decided against to explore the human/demon hybrid aspect.
  • I did changed his Devil Trigger form recently to be a bit more demonic looking in appearance.
  • While they are not seen on his ref, Vincent's runes are akin to the markings of Asura from Asura's Wrath.

Tumultuous is the one of the few words that best describe the relationship between Dante and Vincent. When these two are together, they are either arguing with each other or whatever demon that may have distracted them from their fight. One might argue that they're like a old married couple. However, the two do feed off the other's love for fighting and their desire to protect those they care of. In those quiet moments, they often drop their guard and show the vulnerability they tend to hide around the others as a means to appear strong.

Hurting Liam is a surefire way to get murdered by Vincent as the older man is highly protective of the young boy. There is a reason why he only let certain people watch over his son while he's gone...and that reason he knows the moment that boy gets hurt, there is nothing stopping the wrath that overtakes Vincent. Vincent absolutely cares deeply for Liam and often shower the young boy with gifts and things to help him grow. When he isn't working, he's usually spending time with his boy even baking or watching some cartoons with him.

If you ask Natsu and Vincent if the two of them are friends, they will look at each other before answering sure. Out of the members of the Watcher, Natsu is the one Vincent trust the most to keep things together while he's gone. That and also not stab him in a back when he's not looking (Vincent is looking at you, Lucius). When the two of them aren't busy going on missions or hanging out at the base, they are usually sitting together watching some kind of baking show on the couch complaining on the quality of the desserts they seen.

Vincent hasn't seen many angels before. Thanks to Lucius, he frankly doesn't care to see any at any point of his life regardless on if they're fallen or not. Lucius isn't the worst guy in the world once you ignored the sass and the male's tendency to attempt to slash at Vincent's back whenever he's not looking. Vincent would best describe the guy as being akin to attention seeking puppy...with a scythe and a nice ass. You often see Vincent deadpan snark come out more when he's around Lucius alongside his tendency to call this man all kinds of nasty names in demonic tongue.

Vincent knows he shouldn't be fucking with Alistar. However, he can't help but scare the guy every once in a while by having demons occasionally fly into the base or just scare without the occasional demon tale he heard about. There's somethng amusing about watching Alistair jump and complain loudly about that. It's ok though. Vincent doesn't do it too often, and he's at least making sure Alistair is getting paid decently well fo his work. Vincent does apppreciate the male's service and tries to praise him whenever he gets the chance to.
