BACKSTORY

Mary comes from an extremely religious family, who believe that powers are a sign of holiness and closeness to God. Her family are smothering, wanting to control every aspect of her life, and controlling the narrative to make it seem to outsiders that they are just extremely supportive of their daughter. Mary has next to no freedom and a deep desire to get as far from her family as is possible.

PERSONALITY

In public, Mary keeps up the persona of a perfect little girl. She's always smiling, always kind, and always polite. She keeps her grades up, practices various instruments and is fluent in foreign languages. When she's alone with people she trusts, however, she can come across as quite bitter, and has a dark sense of humour.
