  •  Name   Toki Hazawa
  •  Age   17
  •  Height   180cm (5'11)
  •  Occupation   Student/Clockmaker
  •  Sexuality   ???
  •  Personality

Tall but not imposing, a boy who’s old-fashioned and seems to view life as some sort of fantasy.

He's gentle, dealing with physical things as gingerly as he can, and his voice isn’t loud and imposing. His parents raised him to be kind, as well. Being an avid reader (of fairytales), he's rather imaginative— but, he often gets lost in said imagination, staring off into space as he does so.
  • He’s not one to doubt people, which could be an asset! ...Or a liability. He doesn’t interact with others too much, so he can’t for the life of him tell whether someone’s lying or not and just believes them anyway, which… in a killing game, with people he barely knows... Trust or not, he’s also a good follower! But that’s at the cost of not really speaking up about what he thinks during, say, trials unless someone asks him what he thinks. Morals are an exception. Probably.
He also isn’t very wordy, usually, so that’s less of a headache unless he actually wants to say something and his social skills aren’t enough in which case he’ll just stand and stare at whatever it is that he’s interested in.
  • However, he needs to hear things several times for him to remember them; as someone told him once, “it takes three times for things not to come out the other ear”. On top of that, sometimes things will happen and he’ll be there but he won’t quite remember them after…
  •  Appearance
    (Voiceclaim is Shunichi Toki.)
  • Not buff, despite what his height might imply. He is pale, has light blue eyes that constantly stare into the Void, and long eyelashes. His hair is the same light blue, going down to his lower back in a ponytail with the left side of his bangs tied into a braid that stops as it enters The Ponytail. He wears a yellow cardigan sweater, with a turquoise dress shirt underneath. He also wears blue pants, with Mary Jane shoes that just barely show underneath those. He also wears a fluffy blue scarf with a pastel pink bow, no matter the season (It's soft and he likes it!!!) and a simple silver wristwatch - no date, only time in analogue.
  •  Likes   cocoa, cheesecake, fairytales
  •  Dislikes   list of dislikes
  •  Backstory

Toki Hazawa, from a young age, was already into the clockmaking scene— up until the age of 6, he’d only been observing, but - and his parents talked about this constantly - their dream was to set up a quaint shop just for clocks, and maybe their children would get into it too, and it’d become a family business, so he was waiting for the day he’d be old enough to do the same. With the few friends he had, he’d ramble about that to them, while they would talk much bigger about being astronauts or maybe becoming fairies.

Toki wouldn’t have minded that, either. Being a clockworking fairy sounded really cool - perhaps he would be tinkering with clocks, isn’t that just the funniest joke - and that, when people started to find fairy tales too childish, he would tell his brother Kei about. Toki always worked with Kei at this point, whether he was passing him everything or actually chipping in with whatever experience he had, humming along with him (Kei had a really nice voice…!), or cheering him on when he looked sad.

It never really worked. When he was 10, on the 21st of December - for the period in which he remembered it, anyway - things became a bit clearer.

People hardly even came in to buy anything anymore, neither of them had any time for things like making friends that anyone else their age would be able to do whenever they wanted, and neither of them even fit in enough for that — those were the sort of things he heard when he opened his door just a peek to see what all the commotion was.

Perhaps that was why Kei always looked so sad, as though he was Rapunzel trapped in her tower, but Toki could never be sure— next day, they couldn’t find him anywhere.

Did he really only help repair things? He remembers sometimes that someone would come in and actually buy something, but that was much less compared to the times where he’d just watch someone come in, drop something off and leave, so maybe Kei was right. Did he have less and less time for anything else? The children’s books on his shelf were starting to collect dust with the pace he was rereading them at, so maybe Kei was right.  Was he really that much of an outcast? He’d hear a thing or two about how late he was, so maybe Kei was right. And yet, his parents looked so… torn-up about it, and he missed Kei just as much.

So, if he became his family’s knight in shining armor, then it would be okay, right?

That’s why, setting all of his books aside, he’s taken Kei’s place ever since. And still, he was a dreamer at heart, so as he was working he would start to drift off into a place of his own imagination, of stories waiting to be told — and even now, while he can work with those thoughts, he’s never found it in him to cast them any further. Not even the thoughts about how Cinderella would work as hard as this under her stepmother’s rule— maybe he had a Fairy Godmother that helped him get back on track, by putting him a little further into the future.

(He thinks that’s a good thing, anyway. The fact that there’s this gap in his memory for that day, growing and growing until he can barely remember who else it was he grew up with, though...)
