Profile

Name: Alec Savanth

Title/Callsign: The Gambler

Class: Luck Rigger

Species: Human

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Colors: Hair Color, black, Skin Color, Brown, Eye Color, Emerald Green,

Body: Average with no high concentration of fat or muscle, but no real lack of either. He is 5'5, and weighs 142 Pounds.

Wear: Covered head to toe in a black flexible material suit with multiple sections of reinforced armor plating colored dark grey and dark green, normally in places where it will not constrain him. (Such as on the chest and stomach, fore arm, sides of shoulders, top of his hands, etc.), wears a visor that is colored orange to shield from harsh light and from shrapnel, wears a dark green cap hat. He also wears black combat boots over his suit.

Personality: Alec is extremely confident and cocky, something he had to have to make his way through the underground of the gambling ports, both human and alien. And unlike many, he has the skills to back up what he is so confident and cocky about with a dead eye shot and fast reflexes, and a mind on another level from many others that allow him to easily tell a bluff and when someone is on the ropes. Having been accused many times of cheating and thrown out of more casinos and illegal card meetings than he can count, and shot at just as many times. His mouth has a habit of getting him into trouble, especially due to the fact he brags a lot about his accomplishments, even though he is a wanted man and wanted dead by a few organized crime syndicates. No one is quite sure if it is because he can't control himself, if he is just stupid and or has a death wish, or he secrets enjoys the thrill of people trying to kill him and the satisfaction of proving to more people he is as good as he boasts about.

BIO: Growing up on a distant station near the fringe of U.T.C. space, Alec learned from a young age to take what he had and never let go of it due to how precious materials were out on the frontier, if another human wasn't going to try and exploit you or kill you for your stuff than an alien would, he was taught by both his father and mother how to fire a gun correctly at age eight. Quickly finding that he favored his father's old Eight Shooter, which he was allowed to keep. Alec enjoyed the power a ballistic weapon had, enjoyed the massive amount of recoil compared to a laser or plasma weapon and how much more accurate it was at longer ranges compared to the two. And in the case of Plasma, enjoyed how it flew much quicker towards a target. The only problem was a lot of armor could block the small 38. bullet the revolver, and for some aliens it wouldn't even pierce their skin. He had an urge to upgrade it, make it a killing machine but he required money for that and all he had to his name was a credit balance of thirty eight and a half.

He began to move about the station, carefully and cautiously. Begging would be useless most if not all but a handful of people on the station were as dirt poor as everyone else. But he did discover a place on the station where the rich did like to hang out, a casino. When he went it and began to ask people for money they simply scoffed and told him off, and he was then called out by a bouncer who was about to force him to leave when two elderly gentleman at a table consisting of themselves and five others- four humans and an Ultor, plus a human Card Dealer, called the bouncer off and called the the thirteen year old boy over to the table. Sitting down, the the elder of the two older men expressed an interest in the weapon they saw on his belt- as it was an antique and would be worth a lot of money, they made him an offer of ten thousand credits since he was 'so obviously low on funds'. However, Alec refused stating the whole reason he was after money was to modify it.

A look of horror came across the table, knowing this man was a fanatic for collecting older weapons and abhorred the idea of people messing with them. But he kept a calm composure as he chucked, and expressed that if he wanted money they could bet on this game- he'd throw the ten thousand on the line, and he could wager the fire arm. Winning took all. Marc denied this offer until a fifteen thousand credit wager was thrown in, and Marc began to think of his family- realizing that money could do a lot more good for them too. He sat down and asked what the game was, and a simple response was given - 'blackjack'.

He was handed his cards and was given a brief explanation on how the game was played, the older man not thinking he could possibly win even with the explanation. The bets were placed in the betting square, the other older man- who was the brother of the other one, amusingly threw in a bet consisting of ten thousand, plus an old aluminum lighter, seeing as they were brother- he knew he'd get his stuff back, he simply wanted this boy to have an even more crushing defeat when he 'could have won so much'.

Whether it was because of sheer luck, or some hidden talent, or their arrogance blinding their judgement and playing ability, or a combination of these factors could never truly be found out- but against all odds, Marc won. The winnings were granted, instantly the holographic credit chips were uploaded to his account- he quickly collected the gun and the lighter with a grin before noticing the looks on everyone's faces at the table- the two older men looked pissed, and everyone else looked ready to run away, like something was about to go down. The older one snapped his finger as the bouncer came back over and was ordered to 'retrieve the items and credits he had'. Marc instantly jumped onto the table and then to the other side and began to run before he was grabbed by the other older man, holding his leg as he hit the ground and tried to get away. Then the words of his parents echoed in his head for the briefest of moments, about how you had to keep what you had or else someone would take it from you-

Marc took out his gun and fired three times, one hitting the older gentleman in the chest, the other into the bouncer's chest who didn't fall due to the armor, the third shot he fired went into forehead of the bouncer. It didn't matter what armor you had if you got shot in the face. Screams erupted and began to run as Marc quickly ran out with the older gentleman trying to come to the aid of his younger brother who was rapidly bleeding out from the gunshot wound he had suffered from.

When he got back and news quickly began to spread and his image began to get plastered around his parents quickly began the process of leaving the Star Base, Marc kept apologizing saying that he'd do the prison time so they didn't have to leave his home but his parents explained that prison was the least of his concerns, he had just killed the brother of the leader of the Twilight Corsair, who practically ran the Starbase. Due to the man's declining physical health and the fact he struck him in the heart, the man bled out within just two minutes- no matter how advanced medical aid had become it simply had not arrived quickly enough to save the man.

Using the money that Alec had acquired, they managed to bribe a known slaver and smuggler to get them off the Station, and they flew off to a less remote station- the HUB, the literal opposite of their previous Starbase. It wasn't worn down and slummy, it was up to date and had the most advanced tech, full of rich and healthy people with clean records. Thankfully for Alec, since he was underage he didn't have any ID to mark with a fugitive status, and because none of the Twilight Corsairs were going to go to the U.T.C. to file a crime report- they were able to get in without a problem. Using the credits they had left they were able to buy one of the cheapest places they could find, which was still better than their old place ever was. Once everything had calmed down, they began to lecture their son but when he told them what had happened and how he was just doing what they told him they were no longer as angry as they had been before, realizing they were at least partially to blame for what had just gone down. They explained to him they he shouldn't have been where he was, and to never go to another casino again- especially since it was illegal for someone his age to do so, and this place wasn't nearly as corrupt and twisted as their last place they lived and it wouldn't fly here.

However, Alec had a thrill to satisfy now. The rush of starting with so little and walking out with so much was a new found joy and kick, plus- the fact he could easily get so much money for himself and his parents meant he could never truly stay away. To his credit, he kept out of trouble for around two years before he figured he could 'pass for a really young looking adult'. And went right back to gambling, fake ID and fake DNA sequence and all, the DNA sequence being used to 'prove he just had good genetics that made him look really young'.

Abilities

Gambler's Reload: Loads Alec's eight shooter with four higher damage higher critical chance rounds, and four lower damage lower critical damage rounds. Whichever he fires first will convert the rest of the cylinder into those types of rounds.

Gambler's Sweep: Alec rapidly fans the hammer of his gun and hits as many targets as possible. If he manages to kill two targets or score two critical hits, he will instantly reload his weapon without wasting a turn. If he fails to, he will be forced to reload next turn which will leave him unable to counter attack.

Double Gamble: If Alec activates this, and then lands a shot with a 49% or less hit chance attack, then his next shot will have that hit chance added onto his normal hit chance. (EX: Landing a 36% hit chance shot will have a 36% accuracy bonus placed onto his next attack.) If he misses, then it will instead become a reduction in accuracy for his next shot.

Gambling Savior: Activate on your own turn. Next turn if an ally is about to be hit with an attack that would normally kill them, Alec will taunt them into attacking him with a 50/50% chance to either avoid all damage, or get hit. If he gets hit, then all enemies on the field will be aggressive towards him and he loses any cover bonuses he may have.

Black Jack: Alec's eight shot revolver, named after the game that got his career started. It has been highly modified to fire rounds that are a hybridization of plasma and ballistics, granting him high damage at the cost of his ammunition being stupidly expensive to make. The gun has also been painted all black, with two cards on both sides of the barrel, the ace of hearts and the jack of spades. The reason for those two cards is somewhat morbid, the jack of spades because it is a 'black jack', and the ace of hearts because he killed the man by shooting him in the heart.
