Reiko

One of the highest ranking members of Irhynam's Military. She serves directly under the AI machine that rules Irhynam, Eve. Once your typical human, she is now a cyborg, though one wouldn't ever really be able to tell from the surface. As a well trained soldier, Reiko was responding to a rather usual emergency along the outskirts of Irhynam, before an ambush on her former squad left them mostly dead, only Reiko survived, but barely. Other squads covered them and suppressed the threat, and brought her back to a lab where Machina was waiting to help after Eve asked for a favor. Machina had taken note of the skill Reiko held, and how helpful she is to Eve, as well as the favor she was asked, and made sure to save her. It wasn't too hard, nothing she hadn't done before, but never all at once. She had to replace many vital organs, and construct high tech prosthetic limbs, which with her advances, are near indistinguishable from the real deal. They have the same warmth and feel to them, and Reiko is able to feel them as if they were her own arms. The blast also rendered her blind, but she now operates with cybernetic eyes that appear as snake eyes.

This did leave Reiko out of sorts for awhile, after all a close call with death, and worse to her, her inability to defend Irhynam, her home. That struck deeper than the explosion she felt. But, she was never one to be down for too long, and when she got into physical therapy, she was even more potent than she was before, it didn't take her much time to complete the therapy and return to duty. While that was the last major assault on Irhynam, there were other incidents she was able to resolve without much fuss, and she was overall just superior than before. Eve was already on the fence about recruiting Reiko as one of her personal soldiers, but these improvements and renewed sense of duty swayed her to hire Reiko.

Now, Reiko oversees security detail on Eve and The Rose of Eden. She is not the only one, but is the most prominent, and well known. Although, security for those two isn't always needed, so she will often volunteer to help in other ways. She's got some minor input on how Irhynam is run, though it is very minor and rarely something she does. She quite enjoys being able to help her city on any level. She loves Irhynam, and will gladly serve it as long as she can, which thanks to Machina, is a long, long time.

Reiko still deals with the memories of that faithful day, though these days it only serves as a reminder and drives her to be her best. She can't blame herself for what happened then, no one could have known about that ambush. With time, her guilt did fade, though she will always feel at least a little for being the only one to make it. Outside of her military life, she's a typical citizen of Irhynam, and can be seen out on the town for a good time. She can also be seen at a gun range, showing off her skillful shooting to really blow off steam. Or at the gym, she doesn't quite need to stay in shape how she did before, but she likes to hit the gym, and make sure she's got good control over her cybernetic limbs.
