| Backstory: "Hattie descended from Irish settlers, hence her red hair (or strawberry blonde) and freckles. Despite being Irish, she has a Texan accent, as she grew up in Texas most of her life. Her parents practically abandoned her, leaving her an orphanage as they could no longer care for a child, as they struggled to even feed themselves let alone an extra person. She resented the orphanage but was never adopted due to her older age and stubborn personality. When Hattie was 15, she got into a deadly fight with a fellow orphan, who pulled out a knife and stabbed her, including multiple stabs to her foot as she tried to get away. Though she did survive the ordeal, her injured foot had to be amputated due to an infection that was steadily spreading, which was practically unavoidable due to the times. When she turned 18 and was kicked out of the orphanage due to her no longer being in the system, she took to robbing and thievery just to get by despite her disability, doing exactly what her parents did. Currently, she is an outlaw with a pretty high bounty. She met Ben while running away from bounty hunter on her horse, where he helped her hide from them." |
