Personality
Annabelle is a passionate, excitable, and incredibly friendly auracorn who’s frankly trying her best in the big city. Despite the fact that she’s an adult, she only recently moved out and it’s a new and very overwhelming prospect compared to the country she used to live in. Not that she’s complaining, of course. She’s wanted this ever since she was small.
Annabelle is also incredibly analytical. She’s really good at parsing a situation, whether it’s a computer problem or a people problem. Solutions do take a bit of thinking through, but her solutions are typically high caliber and have a good 80% chance of working first try. This leads to a lot of people asking her for help, both for work and not, but she’s fine with that.
After all, Annabelle is an incredibly social person. She’s the kind of person who thrives in social situations and has lots of friends. Obviously, she doesn’t need to be around them 24/7, but Annabelle enjoys trying to spend as much time as possible with them. When her friends aren’t available, she’ll spend lots of time enjoying the nightlife.
Annabelle is also a very considerate person. She’s super in tune with other people’s emotions and needs and wants to make sure they’re doing okay. Admittedly, she does have a bit of an issue with knowing when other people want her to leave, but when she figures it out she’s very understanding.
Of course, the best part about Annabelle is that she’s super crafty and loves to throw parties. Seriously, she hand makes all the decorations and everything. She also puts a ton of thought into people’s presents and spends a lot of her spare time making them. It feels more personal, and Annabelle loves to connect on a more personal level. Especially through presents.
Design Notes
- Annabelle is an auracorn, and thus has an equine feral form. It has the same markings as her humanoid form, it’s just a horse.
- From her gemstone, Annabelle can summon a horn which allows her to perform magic (specifics in ref).
- Annabelle has a lot of piercings in her ears, and is planning to get more. She also wears a cowbell most of the time.
- Annabelle likes to wear sweater vests and khakis, and she generally prefers more masculine styles.
Trivia
- Annabelle is a programmer at a small videogame company. It’s not actually a glamorous job - she codes the user interfaces primarily and gets super boring. That’s okay though, she enjoys it.
- Annabelle actually lives with her girlfriend Mel, although she’s had some previous roommates.
- Annabelle is particularly fond of reptiles as pets.
- Annabelle decided to wear a cowbell as a reminder of her mom.
History
PAnnabelle was born and raised in the outlands to the well off Neruda family. It was obvious from the start that she was an oops baby - of course she was well cared for, but it was strange having an older sister who was 13 years older than she was and parents closer to 100 than to her own age. It was actually rather isolating, and Annabelle hated it.
Of course, when Persephone moved out, their parents wanted to keep Annabelle with them for as long as possible. This was especially because they were having a serious case of empty nest syndrome after Persephone left. It took a bit, but Annabelle was able to finally leave their home and go to the big city.
It was a huge difference from the chill community that she’d been raised in. Everything about the city was massive, and there were people everywhere! Not that that was a problem, of course. Annabelle adapted very quickly, almost like she’d been born for this place.
Of course, she did have to learn programming, but Annabelle picked it up quite quickly thanks to her mentor. Her mentor also helped her get into the video game industry, where she’s remained ever since. After all, video games are one of her passions.
Annabelle met Mel after picking up one of their graphic novels and enjoying it. What started as a simple admiration for Mel’s work turned into admiration for Mel themself, a friendship, and then finally a proper relationship. While Annabelle has never actually dated someone seriously before, she’s determined to make it work.

Annabelle adores Mel a whole lot. Yeah, being inexperienced in the girlfriend department does make it a little hard, but that’s all right. Annabelle is perfectly willing to spend a lot of time making sure both she and Mel are happy in the relationship, as is Mel. It’s a huge learning curve, but she loves it and she loves them. They love her too, even if they’re more introverted about it. Late night cuddles, anyone?
Honestly, Annabelle has a lot of issues with her older sister. Leaving without warning, a refusal to talk about things, all that is just. so. infuriating! And then there’s the whole family home situation and their parents and the list goes on and on. There’s a reason why she never calls Persephone ever.
Annabelle can’t help but adore Styx’s music, xer style, and xer self confidence. Scream-y punk music is a secret pleasure of hers, after all. And, it’s a good place to turn to when city living just isn’t working out like she thinks it should. She’d love to meet xem in person one day.
Despite Penny’s quiet nature, Annabelle discovered that Penny is an absolute blast to go clubbing with. Seriously, she’s got great moves on the dance floor and can hold her liquor like a champ (... or maybe she’s magicking herself sober between clubs). They go clubbing every weekend, and Annabelle has the time of her life.
Annabelle has some… issues with Meira. She’s trying to be friends with her, but Meira is even more anti-social than Mel (if that’s possible). At least Meira is good at her work? It’s frustrating to deal with her though. Why.
