Ash

Ash was allowed to leave his home at a young age when his parents invited Solar and his van full of family in for a dinner after the van broke down on the side of the road. When Ash's parents found out that Solar's group was full of weird creatures with powers, they begged for him to take Ash, who had developed powers of his own yet nobody really understood him. They were afraid he wouldn't ever be treated right in their small farming village, or might get hurt from never learning to use his powers right. 

Quickly after hitting the road, when Rina and Solar first encountered the problem of keeping a child entertained, Ash consumed a lot of repeated greaser-based films which apparently influenced him far too much. Solar doesn't allow real cigarettes due to the dangers on human lungs, thus Ash is only allowed to use nicotine substitutes. (which solar still frowns on.)
