"Hey...hey. Do you got a second? I need to talk to you about something, Ra...."

With Sae becoming a defense attorney, Oda Hakyru assumed the position of being the top prosecutor in Tokyo. He never lost a case and was highly respected among his peers. However, there have been rumors. Some prosecutors assumed that Oda had some involvement in soiling their reputation and somehow taking clients from them. Some claimed out he had been using forged evidence to win some of his cases. Despite this, no one spoke up about them because there was no evidence, and there have been worries about the male making their life a living hell. However, no one expected Oda to confess to his crimes of doing this or the chaos that would follow soon after his confession. Nobu wasn’t much of a fan of that. With whispers of corruption and news constantly hounding the prosecutor’s office, Nobu had to help repair the damage that Oda caused. If it wasn’t bad enough, his name was pulled through the mud as he had been previously working under Oda. His life fell apart with his partner abandoning him, his friends distancing themselves from him and his own family shaming him. With his life being in shambles, Nobu made the bar his new home and drank away his sorrows. He’s continually questioning if there’s even that possibility for him to get his life back together. Thankfully, Akira is here to fix that.

Likes
  • Drinking. It helps take away the pain of losing everything he cares about.
  • Chess. He enjoys playing the game. It becomes something that weaves him away from drinking further in his confidant.
  • Sleep. If he's not drinking, working, or playing his chess, the male is just sleeping. It does help him calm down.
  • Natsume Motoshige. He's quite fond of the male and would eventually date the male further on in the confidant.
Dislikes
  • Oda. Whether Oda did so on purpose or not, Nobu will never get over how Oda more or less ruined his life.
  • Co-workers. Listening to them talk gives him a headache especially when they often talk about him most of the time.
  • Coffee. He's not much of a coffee fan despite how often he drinks it. He states it's because he's not a fan of how tired it makes him after a while.
  • Cats. What? He thinks they're sneaky, little fuckers.

Character

Nobu is far from being the most positive guy in the world. In retrospect, it's best to describe him as cynical. It's not surprising with his life being a living hell. Nobu has stated that he's a workaholic when it comes to working. He values doing a good job at what he does as it partially helps alleviate the grief he feels from losing everything. He never shows his true emotions unless you get close to him or catch him drunk. Through those, one would see how dreary he is and how he sees himself as a failure. He states that "If I wasn't so starry-eyed, I would have noticed how that old bastard (Oda) was a corrupted shit." However, a side of him is determined to push forward to be better than his old boss. This side of him is one that is buried beneath his depression and negativity. It is one that Akira relies on to get the male back on his feet.

Confidant

Nobu's confidant starts on May 17 when Akira and Adrian goes to visit the Blackwater's Bar at night. Nobu's confidant is a bit tricky when it comes to advancing his confidant as he only appears at night once every 2-3 weeks on a Monday. This appears to be related to how busy the male is and how Akira's job (and other confidants) makes it trickier to level him up. Despite Akira not needing it, spending time with Nobu does raise his knowledge.

Nobu’s confidant centers on his current position in life. With his former boss admitting to what he did, his reputation became soured because of people assuming he was involved in hiding that. This had lead to his girlfriend breaking off their engagement, his family disowning him and other unfortunate events occurring. With all of this, he is at the lowest point in his life and struggles with the idea he may never recover from this. As the confidant goes on, Akira slowly helps repair Nobu’s spirit. He does so by entertaining the male with his chess, listening to his rambling of the world and just spending time with him. The more Akira interacts with Nobu, the more he gradually works on getting back to his feet. He stops drinking and stops focusing heavily on his job. Hell, he even gets back into dating at some point! Things became rocky with the ex-girlfriend deciding to pop in and threatening to blackmail him if he didn’t marry her. She didn’t enjoy her new life without him pampering her. With some help from Akira (who stole her heart), she left him alone. Completely being freed from his ex, Nobu eventually settled into a more positive life with his new lover: Natsume Motoshige.

Nobu's farewell gift to the Akira, on the day he maxed his Confidant bond, is his Chess Set that he personally brought for Akira.

Nobu's confidant is an unusual one as it is tied to the Third Eye. Nobu's abilities are very useful as it does add on to the abilities that the Third Eye commonly provides. The abilities themselves are varied, but all seem to improve upon the initial aspects that the Third Eye normally provides.
