Ischade's Links
So very very proud of this one. She was always pretty shy, but has been really quiet since her mama's passing. I'm so glad she can express herself through dance.
Tries her best to be there for her mom since mama's passing, but it's really hard on her too and she finds herself keeping a lot of it in, though she's sure Isa sees straight through her.
Elder daughter. I make sure she feels every bit of loved and successful as her sister.
Sometimes thinks her mom can get overly mushy, but is much happier that way than the alternatives.
Whenever she is home or having a particularly hard time, she makes sure to stop by his tea house. She tries not to lay too much of her emotional weight on the tea master, but appreciates the chance to slow down and enjoy small things when it gets to her too strongly.
He's very particular about what teas he picks out for Ischade. He listens if she talks, and if she rather not, the view can do the talking for him. Always greets her with some variant of 'It's good to see you'.
Treats Lily as if she were one of her own. Has all the patience in the world to handle her shyness and loves to hear about her writing projects and what has her inspiration ablaze.
Ischade inspires Lily. She wants to get married some day have her own children, so that she can be the kind of parent hers weren't. She also inspires her to be and do what she wants. She feels like the heavy burden of worrying she's disappointed her business parents in not becoming a doctor, has been lifted. She has a new mother now, and they tell her to live her dream, every day.
Sees Kayla for everything she is far beyond the daughter of a pair of criminals. Always happy to have her companionship traveling, and is happy to provide safety and repose for her while she tries to reach her next steps in life.
Ischade is the mother Kayla had always tried to see in her own mother, the woman she always hoped her mother would shape up into. When she gave up on that hope as a child and ran away, taking her younger brother with her, she decided that vision she had wasn't possible, that people just couldn't be that good or kind. Ischade proved her wrong. In this crucial divergence in her life, Kayla couldn't even imagine not having Ischade's loving support.
Taught Dessa to redirect some of her rebellious, fiery energy into baking. Her wild demeanor reminds her of herself in her younger age, and knows she's going to warm up to life on the mainland with time.
Just a shockingly warm individual. I was all sorts of ready to mistrust her, but she's just... JUST... so open and kind. I will hex any one that tries to harm her! So mote it be!
Though Ischade is a strong woman and manages herself well, she knows deep down she owes a lot of that to Ana. Having someone who understands your own hurt on such an intimate level can make all the difference, and the mutual support they share has been integral to keeping her going. She does indeed have a number of Ana's glass figurines, and decorates every nook and cranny she can with them. There's also at least one she keeps with her to remind her that when her sorrows are the greatest and coping is at it's toughest, she always has someone to reach out to, a friendship that will always keep her going.
"You have survived the pain. You can survive the recovery." Connected by the worst possible fate - left widowed and anguished in the aftermath of the Iho Palla outbreak. Ischade was a balm for her soul no matter their mutual mourning and Anna appreciates her continued correspondence. The woman has a small collection of trinkets and gifts and Ischade has probably accumulated enough glass figurines from Anna to fill an entire cabinet.
FRIEND: A fellow member of the Iho Palla widowers club. She enjoys the company of Ischade, and feels a kinship with her. Laakari wishes she could soothe Ischade's pain and feels guilty about not curing Iho Palla in time.
