Grigor stumbles upon a murder scene. A female wolf is lying stomach down on the ground, in a pool of blood. Grigor, being the dick that he is goes over to see if she had any valuables on her. As he got closer he hears muffled cries.

He quickly locates the source of the cries, as a pup is underneath its mother, wrapped with cloth to her chest. Grigor picks up the pup and cradles it.

I haven't really figured out why yet (Wow capy you're so good with storytelling), but he decides to raise the kid himself.

The wolf daughter has a cheerful personality and is a positive influence on Grigor, bringing him out of his shell a bit. When she was little, Grigor stayed away from society to raise her and was fiercely protective. As she got older he couldn't control her like that anymore, so he was forced to let her travel and socialise. But he stays nearby to "keep her safe" though it's more to comfort himself at this point.

Also, the more wolf daughter matured, the more she looked like her mother, which reminded Grigor of the corpse. Because of this he developed a fear of her meeting the same fate. He trained her to become a strong warrior to keep her safe after she became too big for him to realistically protect himself.

Due to her training, she's a skilled and strong fighter. But she rarely fights because she's so damn friendly.
