PERSONALITY:

John Finnigan is the kind of person to come off as incredibly rude, single minded, stubborn, and generally angry. A workaholic who's sole focus is on the job. A person who would waste no time on simple pleasantries. He is also the least likely person to be considered heroic or caring in any regard.

Yet there are few who care more for the people around them than John Finnigan.

Despite his otherwise rough exterior John is a very dedicated man, he puts others before himself and deeply cares for those in legitimate pain. He's the first to give a hug and a shoulder to cry on when needed and, no matter how much he gets burned by it, puts faith in people to be better than they are.

A bleeding heart and a fool.

John is a man who's made a mistake, a mistake that's defined his entire life for over four hundred years. A mistake he aims to correct no matter what pain it causes him. He's not looking for redemption, however. He feels that what he's done there is no forgiveness and instead aims to help others better themselves, feeling that anyone can be redeemed if they try hard enough and will offer to be the one to help if they need it.

On top of everything the man is stubborn. Hundreds of years dealing with Fae, Monsters, and Demons has left John resilient to tricks of the mind and will often times frustrate the things trying to break him simply because he doesn't budge. On top of that the years of being a paranormal investigator has taught him the art of working around convention simply because everything around him is so unconventional.

In short, if John is at your back you won't get rid of him unless forced and he will take any and all bullets for you.

POWERS:

John is, for the most part, a normal human. Except for the fact that the man can't die. Cut him, stab him, poison, beat, batter, eviscerate, incinerate, no matter what you do to him he'll piece himself back together (literally) and keep going. Banished from death if he gets hurt his body will forcibly pull itself back together in both a fascinating and horrifying display. This doesn't mean he doesn't feel pain, indeed he feels the pain about three times as intense as a normal person and will often times exclaim his distaste for the situation.

On top of that he can't eat or drink. Food and drink taste like ash when in his mouth and when he ingests it he immediately throws it back up after becoming violently ill. This is due to the fact that his body is not allowed to "change".

It's not all bad, however, the fact that his body can't change or won't change for any length of time means that he can keep a level head because typical feelings of panic don't emerge. Though this also means that when those feelings do break through they are far more powerful than what would normally be experienced. But this rarely happens and often times he can power through any feelings of doubt. He simply has to in order to get the job done.

When near Jack he can change his appearance very mildly. Mostly just hair color. He rarely uses this power since it's incredibly difficult and unreliable to do and usually doesn't serve a purpose.

In terms of physical ability John is decently strong (he used to be a woodcutter during America's early colonization) and is an above average martial artist, though nothing too special. He knows Krav Maga and Boxing and is an expert at fighting dirty. John's true strength, however, lies in his mental prowess.

John is smart, experienced, and dedicated. He knows multiple languages (English, German, Aramaic, Gaelic, and a few others) understands much about magical theory, and is a great strategist. This is mostly due to his elongated life as experience is the greatest teacher of all. When he finds himself in a fight or a bad spot his mind is immediately working to figure out how to get out of the situation with as little casualties as possible, though this can backfire on him occasionally as while he's thinking creatures and people that thrive off of working in the moment can push through his defense before a plan can be made.
