New Energon Containment Transport for Refuel - NECT4R

NECT4R is a Decepticon division; a small squad of 4-5 bots of bots that were assigned to loot bodies of dead transformers, their task as a group involved going to recent battlegrounds and using newly developed Shockwave tech to re-distil necrotized(?) energon. (this is during a tf-typical energon shortage so everyone is fighting over viable (particularly stable) sources of energon, there is research on both sides into developing new ways of distilling and extending the effect of energon.) Tar's role as part of NECT4R was to transport the gathered fuel (obvs).

the re-distilled necrotized energon (RNE?) has negative effects on bots that consume it (details tbd) rip.

in the field, sometimes it gets to a point where a bot isn't quite dead yet, but that just means fresher energon so NECT4R essentially bleeds the bot to death and leaves o_o

NECT4R bots were modified specifically for their task and were fitted with inhibitors that made them quota-oriented and lacking in morality, can't send the group out, have a friend fall in battle and then them all be too full of emotions to drain him. Tar still struggles with his processor and can be a little detached from morality at times.

Shockwave did this all in secret, covering it with the fact he just had a secret, undetectable source of energon and that the energon distillery was just for the mined/otherwise acquired energon from general raids and skirmishes. Megatron eventually finds out.. and i gotta decide what that means lol.

anways, the inhibitor chip is removed from Tar, he gets his current paint job(?) and tries again. hes grateful to megatron for 'saving' him and has a lot of distain from autobot medics that found out about NECT4R and their actions

at current. Tar is the only member of NECT4R left, has adopted the name of the group as its the only name he ever really had. dislikes it of course and the fact its a sweet earth substance rubs him weird, 'Tar' as a name is nice though, now that hes in this post-NECT4R era of his life.
