Ws0H0IE.png
Name

A creature known by many names. It is known in ancient tomes as The World Eater - The Beginning and the End, The Keeper of Balance. As of now however, it answers to the name Pluto.

Age

Unknown, possibly as old as time itself. The creature currently takes the form of an adult, male feline.

Powers & Abilities

Mostly unknown. However, the creature is known to take on many forms - notably one of a frighteningly gigantic and fearsome dragon of bones. The dragon is said to breathe green fire, and this is rumored to be the form the creature takes when it wrecks havoc on whatever world it has chosen to devour.

About

Ominously known The Keeper of Balance or The Beginning and the End, the World Eater is a faceless entity that appears once a world has reached the end of its lifespan. Not necessarily good or evil, The World Eater simply exists to consume realms that have passed their expiration dates. The stuff of myth and legends, no proof of the World Eater exists, save for old tomes mages have archived long ago in the libraries of Sol.

Story

"I am merely doing what needs to be done."

The War Between Sol and Alencia

During The Great War between Sol and Alencia, renowned arch mage of Sol - Armin Melchor - opened a rift to another dimension. Armin had hoped to channel the power of the spirits to put an end to five decades of war, and to save his brothers-and-sisters-at-arms from certain death and defeat. However, the magic that poured through the rift was far too much for him, and instead of summoning aid, he awakened both a slew of malicious spirits and an entity known only in tomes as The World Eater.

Everyone from both sides of the war - except for Armin - was slaughtered by the evil spirits.

He was found a week later by Sol's (his country's) army, and after seeing the carnage left behind, Armin was branded as a traitor to his King and his country. The archmage was executed shortly after he confessed to the events of what was eventually coined as the Slaughter at Sulfur Pass.

Post-War Sol / Modern Day Earth

Flash forward several years later - many of Sol's finest mages, with the help of The Defenders of Sol, manage to seal The World Eater away in a strange cube-like device known only as The Artifact. The cube was buried deep within one of Sol's many caves and The World Eater went into an eternal slumber once more.

However, the cube was uncovered by a curious archaeologist and The Artifact was shattered. The World Eater was once again set free to wreck havoc. Summoning his army, The World Eater scattered the broken pieces of the cube across both Sol and the human world - earth. The World Eater fled Sol and slipped past the rift between worlds only to end up in the small, idyllic town of Oakwoods.

In order to blend in, The World Eater took on the form and mannerisms of a black cat. He spent the first weeks wandering the neighborhood and exploring the area but was picked up off the streets by a girl named Anna.

At the start of the Sol Arc, The World Eater is living a rather cushy life as a domesticated house cat named Pluto.

Relationships

Annalise Barker

[ owner ] The person who plucked The World Eater off the streets and adopted him. Shortly after Anna took him in, she named him Pluto after the same cat in Edgar Allan Poe's "The Black Cat." Anna adores Pluto and practically smothers him in affection. She caters to his whims and always makes sure he has enough cat food to eat and milk to drink. Oddly, The World Eater doesn't mind being treated in such a manner. In fact, he kind of likes it, and - despite his purpose to devour the world - has grown somewhat fond of his new "owner."

Flynn Barker

[ owner's brother, nemesis ] Annoying, stupid, boy. Pluto and Flynn share a mutual distrust for each other. Flynn dislikes him because he's a stray that might have rabies, and Pluto dislikes Flynn because he's the child Prince Tobias recruited to help weed out the World Eater. Pluto knows Flynn is on a desperate quest to seal him away, and Pluto uses his position as an insider (their house cat) to learn as much about Flynn and the Defenders of Sol as he can. He ends up playing them like a fiddle, and over the course of the Sol Arc, no one ever suspects that The World Eater has been with them all along.

Aislyn Kaye

[ owner's friend ] Loud child with plenty of cat treats. Pluto is aware that Aislyn is also one of the Defenders of Sol, but he sees the girl as a much smaller threat - she's too blinded by his cuteness to notice anything is amiss after all. Since he doesn't see her as a threat, and since she's willing to coo over him and pamper him in the same manner as Anna, Pluto has decided that Aislyn is his second favorite human - second to his owner of course.
