PERSONALITY

Joaquin is a pretty chill person, usually doesn't react much to aggression or anything the like - He's discreet (as discreet as a 7'1" lava monster can be) and shy, rarely speaks up in public. He's very private, and it takes a very quiet and non-crowded environment to get him to actually talk more in depth about anything.

Once he starts talking, you'll quickly notice the Cherufe is a really gentle soul, although often clumsy in his words : Isolation didn't get him used to communication with other people, and he often lets little remarks or clumsy wording slip. It can be hurtful, it can be taken really badly, but it's never intentional and he tries hard to fix is mistakes when they happen. He's really respectful, even though these mistakes can mislead someone about it.

Joaquin is really soft and caring, really kind and gentle, but remains very weak-willed and will shrink in front of confrontation, kowtow really low and rarely try to assert anything, including himself. He's retiring and never fight for himself, will rather stay quiet and leave instead.

The Cherufe is very sensitive, and even though he usually wears a very blank facade, he's quite emotional.

TASTES

Joaquin is a big big beefy masculine looking person. He's very muscular and strong. He can probably carry a minibus on his back. His skin is very dark and desaturated, dark grey looking, with slightly darker gradient on his feet, tail, arms, and forehead/horns. His skin is cracked everywhere, very thin cracks letting bright orange, high-temperature lava show. The cracks are mostly random as the lava composing his body isn't inert.

The Cherufe has long, voluminous, fluffy black hair. It's soft but doesn't look organized or styled at all. He usually keeps two big strand falling behind his ears and on his shoulders, and tucks back his long bangs backward.

He has pointy ears, and yellow sclera for his bright red irises. He does have big, wide fangs, but he rarely opens his mouth bide/long enough for them to show.

He has a rather long tail, that ends up in high-temperature lava. It can be droppy. His arm (usually up from around his elbow) also usually are high-temperature lava and can be droppy gooey. He can concrete them, however. Joaquin as two S shaped horns, whose plane is the same as his body's. He halso got a large unicorn like horn on his forehead. All horns end in high-temperature lava.

The Cherufe has two main forms anatomy wise. The usual one has large, thick forearms and proportionally big clawed hands. These hands got only 4 fingers. In this form, Joaquin has extremelly large dinosaur-like feet, with 3 fingers and lava-made claws.

His other main form is the one he usually uses when he goes out : his arms have an average size (athough still made of high-temperature lava most of the time), and his legs are human-like shaped.

CHILDHOOD

Joaquin is an ancient, nowaday pretty rare creature. He comes from Chile (Volcán San José), along with a few others Cherufes... But it never really clicked that much with his so to call "family", and he left abruptly after a short while. He used his magmatic nature to travel within Earth mantel. He spent most of his childhood travelling through the mantel, sometimes stopping by a new volcano during an eruption... He was very isolated.

ADULTHOOD

Later in his life, Joaquin decided to try and live a life closer to what he's always been dreaming of : a settled down life, in one single place, including some sort of home and NOT travelling through the world every weeks and never seeing the light of the day. He picked an extincted volcano, for minimized risks of triggering an eruption. He picked the Puy de Dôme, in France. 

He tried to go ahead and see what non-Cherufe people looked like. It was a weird experience, not especially pleasant. But not too unpleasant either. It would become so later on, with the straneg way they looked at him and his difficulties to navigate his way into a socialized world. 

For a long while, Joaquin lived in a troglodyte habitation, in the Massif Central's mountains and not too far from the Puy de Dôme. He didn't get out to often... But he sorta needed to find groceries by times to times. He just grabbed his wheelbarrow and went down to the closest village. He hoped to manage and build a cooler life at some point, but he knew it would take time... And improving at interacting with people.

POWERS

LAVA PROPERTIES
Joaquin, being made of lava, can re-shape his body to some extents. He can concrete his skin... If he focuses a lot, but that probably won't last hours. On the other hand, he can also fully turn into high-temperature lava. This allows him to change the state of his body, its shape, and its temperature to some extents. He can use this ability to fuse with existing lava, and this is how he managed to travel through Earth mantel.

HEAT RESISTANCE
He's resistant to heat. I mean, he's probably the hottest thing around anyway.

GEOLOGIC WRATH
Joaquin can triggers volcanic eruptions, earthquakes... 

TRIVIAS

• It takes big efforts for him to concrete his high-temperature parts by his own for an extended period of time. He usually relies on cold water to first concrete it, and then work toward keeping it that way for as long as possible.
• Despite all expectation, he gets really excited about cold drinks. Cold things in general. He loves the feeling !!
• Even though he loves mojito, he will always drink in moderation if at all.
• He dreams of being able to CRONCH on icecubes. They usually melt before he gets to put them into his mouth...
• He goes grocery shopping with a wheelbarrow. He doesn't really have anything else as handy as that.
• He's really warm to the touch, boiling hot sometimes, but it's handleable for most. That applies to the dark part of his rock skin only : the red/orange, high-temperature lava part, can vary from 150 to 1200°C (1300-2200°F). However, he's overall not as hot as actual lava from a volcano, even though he can reach this heat level easily and on will.
• Would maybe kill someone to get closer to a kitten.
• Took the habit to avoid using his hands too much when he's around people (to avoid burning them). He usually uses his elbows, legs, and face, which can be... Very unique to look at.
• Feels the best when people politely comes closer to him to leech off his warmth.
• Has to wear heat resistant fabric. It's hard and expensive.
• Never really wears shoes. Or socks. Or anything that could eventually goes on his feet. He doesn't need this.
• Might fall asleep if you brush his hair.
