Biography

A ginger badger born in a thunderstorm, Cammy is built for comfort. He sleeps a lot (and good luck getting him out of bed), he likes his old PCs, 90s music, long walks, and familiar surroundings, and he's never too heavily dressed, oftentimes just a button-up and khakis with no shoes if not outright pajamas. He's got some social nerves and new things get him a bit apprehensive, but he's otherwise the most talkative person in the room about all the too many things that get him curious.

Perhaps owing to his strange roots, Cammy does have a taste for the magical and the fantastical. He belongs to a class of beings hanging somewhere inside the Somnolescent Multiverse known as narrators, effectively storytellers with the ability to manifest in the worlds they create. Sometimes Cammy will even dress for the occasion, either in his green-and-gold wizard robe or just a simpler belted tunic for going wandering.

Cammy's both I guess what you call my truesona and a comfort character, a big fluffy ball of things I love. In comparison to mari, who's my front-facing Internet persona, and Setter, who's me at my most excited and scattered, Cammy is more just me as a person, just with cool magical powers. Like I'm dating my real-life girlfriend caby, Cammy too is madly, softly in love with her capybara sona Caby, and you can often see them hanging around town together, peeking inside used game stores and places where plushies are sold.

Design Notes

Body and patterning

  • Hair is long (past shoulders) and wavy. It only curls much at the bottom.
  • Far ear always droops, regardless of side. It helps him look sleepier.
    • If you're drawing him more head on, it's okay to have both ears perked or to pick either one to droop. He probably has some movement over them anyway.
  • I used to draw him a little squishy around the tummy. I tend not to anymore, but you can if you want. He likes snacks.
  • There's a lighter patch of fur stretching from the neck to the insides of the thighs and forearms, so across Cammy's entire tummy and terminating at his sides. It's hard to see in his normal outfit outside of his neck area, but some of his older art shows it. (I forget it a lot -w-)
  • Number of fingers and toes varies, but I prefer four for both.
    • Five-fingered hands show up more in Caby's more anthro art.
    • Three toes in toonier art and five toes when he's more badgerlike (say, for Pinéde stuff) is also fine.
  • I don't put pads on his hands, but if you want to, they stretch across the entirety of the inner hand area. Similarly, footpad is across the entirety of the sole and toes.
  • Hands don't have claws. Feet don't have to have claws, but they're cute, so I encourage them muchly.

Clothing

  • Cammy's got very many outfits! He's a bit flamboyant like that... Feel free to have a look through the tabs to see what all you can draw him in. It's not an exclusive list either:
    • The rule about outfits is that, if it looks comfy, he'd probably wear it. If that means bundling up, wearing pajamas, or running around in shorts and a t-shirt for your specific drawing, then that's all good with me. (Bonus points for fantasy stuff, like robes or chunks of crystallum!)
    • Cammy doesn't really wear shoes unless it's really wet or snowy outside.
  • I'd recommend going with either earthier tones for Cammy, if you're picking out colors for his outfit. I like warm browns, reds, forest greens, deep blues, that sorta thing. (He's a coffee colored badger, after all!)
  • Glasses lenses are 50% #FFD693, since that color is a little hard to pick from drawings.
