Personality
Birdmask holds a very aloof and cold exterior around pretty much everyone. She's yet to truly open up to anyone and keeps withdrawn within herself and keeps everyone else at least a tail-length away. She's a bit of a harsh cat who can be a little rude if she ever spoke her mind, but she thankfully has enough of a filter to hold her tongue when necessary. But she will still do what she can to be honest with someone else about how she feels. She seems to hold a distaste for loners or cats who have abandoned their Clan.

It's unknown if there's a warmer part of her underneath the cold mask she puts on around others. Birdmask knows, however, that inside she's often in a bit of turmoil; a moment from her past still haunts her to this day, always clawing at her heart and the back of her mind, a constant reminder of what she did. Inside, she's constantly ready to have a breakdown, but she holds herself together by what few threads she's got left.

Birdkit

Birdkit and Breezekit were the two daughters born to their mother Softbriar and father Rabbitleap. Birdkit was certainly the more relaxed and mellow of the two, and even as a kit seemed to get easily irritated at her sister when she would want to play and somewhat force Birdkit into it even if she constantly complained about it. Despite her disdain, Birdkit did care about her sister deeply, and was always there for her at the end of the day if ever she needed anything.

Birdpaw
As an apprentice, Birdpaw worked hard to make her mentor proud. She wanted to grow up and be an amazing warrior, just like many of her Clanmates that she looked up to. She took her training very seriously--unlike Breezepaw. Breezepaw continued to always just want to play around and only took her training seriously on the days that it mattered; she'd much rather just play.

Birdpaw was constantly having to cover up and help her with hunting and often went easy on her whenever their mentors had them spar. It made Birdpaw feel...incredibly disappointed. Especially because, despite how many times Birdpaw chided her sister, she never showed any desire to want to improve herself.

Birdmask
Finally, the day had come for their warrior ceremony. Birdmask felt, at this point, she'd be able to leave Breezestep to her own devices. She was a warrior now! A full-grown cat that could surely take care of herself, right? However, as the moons passed, Birdmask could see that wasn't the case. Breezestep was always floundering in her abilities, struggling to keep up with the other warriors; she always brought back the least amount of prey, and she was often the first to turn tail and run at the first sign of conflict. Birdmask just felt more and more disappointed by the day, which eventually led to her feelings turning darker and more negative. To a point she felt disgusted to be related to someone like this. How could she have such little passion? How could she not want to improve? Did she really think she was okay just the way she was?

Around the time they were 24 moons old, Birdmask asked Breezestep to join her on a quick walk through the territory. Birdmask was mostly silent as they went, the two running across the moors of WindClan's territory, before she finally came to a stop along the border that was close to Fourtrees. She turned to her sister with what was surely a cold look on her face. She still remembers the sudden fright in Breezestep's eyes, the nervous twitch of her whiskers as her tail lowered and she tried to make herself appear smaller. It's a sight Birdmask won't forget until her dying breath. But she steeled her resolve and spoke in an icy voice to her sister despite some small level of disgust she held for herself to cause her own sister to look at her like that.

"You do not belong here. You are no WindClan cat--you're barely even any sort of Clan cat. You're weak and pathetic, and I can scarcely believe we're related! Unless you want to better yourself, then I suggest you turn tail and leave, and never return. If I ever see you again, I will not hesitate to chase you off of my Clan's territory."

Breezestep was truly frightened, looking at her sister as if she were some sort of badger or fox getting ready to devour her, her eyes watery with tears. Without trying to even defend herself, Breezestep turned and ran for Fourtrees, her tail tucked between her legs, running as fast as she could to escape her sister. Birdmask would quickly turn herself away, biting back her own tears, and forced her paws to march her back to camp.

Upon her arrival, she was stoic and quiet, unreadable. When questioned what had happened to her sister, she'd respond in a matter-of-fact voice that her sister had decided she wasn't suited for Clan life and ran beyond their borders. She would never divulge any deeper than that, nor would she ever tell anyone the truth. But that day still haunts her to her core, and it's something she knows she'll have to live with. She's yet to see her sister again.

Now, with Falconstar as the newest leader of Windclan, Birdmask was named her deputy once she took over. Proud of this decision, Birdmask is absolutely loyal to her and to WindClan, and will do anything to keep her Clan safe.
