Personality

Generous: His face is usually emotionless, but he’ll occasionally crack a smile here and there. Behind his silent demeanor, is a gentle wolf who’s a lot more caring than he lets on. While he doesn’t show affection through kind words or touch, he’ll leave scraps of food outside someone’s den when he knows they’re not feeling well. Or when he’s helping pups look for interesting things as they explore, he’ll purposely miss the pretty feather or pretty rock, so the pup finds it and cheers with excitement.

Playful: While it’s rarely shown, HawkEye is actually very playful. When he’s alone he enjoys playing with sticks and chasing lizards around. Sometimes he’ll chase a rabbit down for the fun of it with no intentions of catching it. With those he trusts, he enjoys a good game of tag and hide and seek. Surprisingly, this makes him get along great  with pups despite having very little experience with them.

Quiet: HawkEye isn’t antisocial, but tends to keep to himself. He’s a wolf of few words, and won’t speak unless spoken to. Whenever he does speak his replies are short making it hard for others to continue a conversation with him. HawkEye simply doesn’t see the point in small chatter and doesn’t feel the need to talk about himself.

Messy: HawkEye doesn’t like grooming himself. This large wolf is almost always covered in twigs, leaves, and mud. He doesn’t mind it one bit. If anything, he sees it as extra camouflage to help him catch his next meal. If anyone saw him they could guess his home would be filthy as well, and they’d be absolutely right. His den is full of old feathers and bones laying around. Instead of cleaning them away, he’ll simply shove them off to the side. As long as he has a comfortable place to lay down that’s all he needs.

Self Sufficient: Self sufficient, strong, and capable, HawkEye views the world as cruel and harsh. He knows he needs to be smart and adaptable to survive. Because he grew up with no pack, he doesn’t rely on the help of others too often. Because of this he struggles forming close bonds and usually misses the point of teamwork.

Apathetic: HawkEye is content with the basic needs of life. All he really cares for is food, water, shelter, and perhaps a quick fling with a pretty companion here and there. He doesn’t have any inspiring dreams and doesn’t care about high ranks within a pack. He doesn’t care about traveling or seeing the world. All he wants to do is be lazy and live a comfortable life.

History

A red tail hawk, named Red, was perched on the top of a tree when he noticed a large male wolf walking beneath with something in his mouth. Gently, the male placed a single pup beside the tree before taking off and leaving the child behind. This caught Red’s attention and he flew down to the pup. He originally planned on eating the tiny child, but as he watched the pup whimpering and trying to crawl, the hawk didn’t have the stomach to kill him. Wolf meat probably tasted bad anyways. Instead, Red went about his business, but at the end of the day noticed the pup was still there. Confused as to why the father hadn’t returned, the hawk began leaving pieces of meat for the pup to feed on. At first this was done out of selfishness. Surely if he saved the pup’s life, the pup would protect him when he became older. And he could provide bigger meals for the hawk. However, over time Red bonded with the wolf and eventually viewed him as his own son. Having only a bird for a guardian, HawkEye was forced to grow up quickly and never had the luxury of playing as a child. Although, Red did his best to teach his son how to act like a wolf by observing other wolves during his flight and then attempting to relay what he saw. However, HawkEye struggled to follow instructions and eventually discovered it was easier to teach himself things through trial and error.

Trivia

  • Symbol: Red tail hawk feather
  • His favorite color is red and brown.
  • He's a deep sleeper and snores very loudly.
  • When he was a pup, his adopted father would often place sticks around him in attempts at building a nest. Now as an adult, HawkEye still likes keeping a stick near him as he sleeps or sleeping on low branches in trees.
