Background

Tart always had an artistic eye for organization and design, whether it was her in room or entire home, making elegant goods in her parent's bakery, or giving her friends makeovers.  But while contemplating adulthood during high school, Tart was unsure of a path. She started weighing out her options; event planner, interior decorator, a personal stylist, or maybe a pastry chef? Despite enjoying all those things, she didn't know which would make a comfortable career, and decided to try a bit of everything during high school.

Tart would study beauty and fashion as she started a beauty guru channel where she did makeup video tutorials, offering and exchanging skincare and beauty tips, and a lookbook blog for her makeup and fashion looks .  When a birthday, school/formal event or other special party occasion came along, Tart would volunteer to manage and plan them all for experience and create a portfolio of photos, brochures, invitations, etc. just in case. She also redid interior design for family/friend's homes, especially during holidays. When not busy with her channel, volunteer work, and studying/school work, Tart found relaxation in baking with her parents. They'd teach her the art of making bread, pasties, desserts, and other baked goods. Once they felt they had taught their daughter everything they could, they rewarded Tart with her own section to sell her own baked goods in the bakery. Which allowed her to experiment and try new things based on customer feedback.

Real World

After a few years of hard work and experience, Tart had sharpened her artistic eyes and skillsets, with good portfolios ready to go. Thanks to her various catering gigs for her baked goods, cosmetic influencer collaborations, Tart was also starting to make quite the name for herself in worlds of beauty, fashion and baking, She realized if she could balance these things while in high school, why not for her life? She began examining the opportunities made for her after graduating.

Tart was offered culinary scholarships, but turned it down as she felt she'd already learned from the best, and would continue to learn more through experience. Instead she attended an esteemed beauty school to become a licensed cosmetologist within 8 months, and during so started an online catering, event planning and design trifecta business, which was local for the most part. But with the connections she made in the beauty world, she began getting gigs as a personal stylist and interior designs for some big names from all around.

With the multiple businesses getting busy, Tart eventually burnt out from the work, and began doing some reflecting. Even though she enjoyed the things she did, it was still work, and she was just going through a cycle. But she wanted to stand out, maybe make a difference. But to who, and how? She listed who she currently made happy with her work; People had good times at the events she planned, her food is enjoyed by many and isn't terribly unhealthy, she makes sure home owners feel happier and comfortable in their newly designed homes, and people she styled always looked good. Then she wondered if they felt good, and thought of a new focus. Helping certain groups of people look AND feel good about themselves!

Opportunities

Tart began doing some research on minority audiences who wanted to use beauty products, but didn't have efficient ones for them. She realized a lot of these big beauty companies target similar audience types, with not much diversity for certain skin tones and skin types. Which led to brainstorming ideas for skincare and cosmetics that'd work for those with oily skin and dry skin, particularly products that'd be hydrating and comfortable for people with sensitive skins and conditions such as eczema. Then focused on neutral and vibrant shades and colors that could work for various deep and light skin tones, coming up with products for those who want just the help and skincare for subtle/natural looks to those who want to stand out, Then it came to the final hurdle, bringing it to life. Tart tried to use some of her connections to find manufacturers and content creators who could help with a launch. but those she went to only cared about profit rather than quality.

Word got around of Tart trying to start a cosmetic line, and she's reached out to by a fahsion designer named Paris, who's the founder of the fashion brand Pryde. He generously offers to hire Tart as an event planner, designer, caterer, stylist, and even model for Pryde. He also offers to find a manufacturer to produce her cosmetic lines, and to use his platform and shop to help with sales. In exchange, he asks that he/Pryde be a partner in her cosmetics business. Tart accepts the offer and the two go into business, growing together.

Tart then launches her new cosmetics line at a fashion show along with a collection created in collaboration with her and Pryde to compliment each other. The beauty line receives high praise for it's affordable pricing, as well as range of shades and benefits, all while being cruelty free. With the success of her beauty line, Tart's other business' begin booming and expanding online, but she felt it was only the start.
