Profile
The friendly neighborhood librarian. Mitra is well-known within her community for being kind and helpful- and not just when assisting her patrons at the library. She's a little on the quiet side, but very warm and friendly all the same. However, she can also be a bit mischievous when no one's looking.
Mitra is 27 years old and a kacheek (Neopet species). In her free time, she enjoys reading, getting out in nature, and watercolor painting.
She currently lives with her adoptive mothers in a house downtown. A few years into the future timeline, she gets married and moves into a house with her husband. Then, in her thirties, she becomes a mother to two wonderful kids.
Relationships:
Mitra knows so many people that this page will get huge by listing them all, so I'll be kind and put this section under a spoiler for you:
Leonah [mother]: One of Mitra's adoptive mothers (she calls her "Mum"). Mitra always felt closest to Leonah growing up. She credits her Mum for shaping her into the kind and patient person she is today.
Elanor [mother]: Mitra's other adoptive mother (she calls her "Mummy"). Elanor is the chatty, outgoing mother who Mitra sometimes has a hard time keeping up with, but she still loves her Mummy very much!
Tim [father]: Tim was Mitra's adoptive father when she was growing up, although he wasn't often around. They have a good relationship with each other, although they feel more like "close friends" than a father & daughter.
Ozie [partner]: Mitra's boyfriend and eventual husband. They love each other very much.
Corey [son] and Skylar [daughter]: Mitra becomes a mother first by having Corey, then Skylar comes along a few years later. Mitra loves her kids unconditionally.
Main friend relationships:
Maxwell: Max is Ozie's best friend, and he quickly became a friend of Mitra's as well. Mitra thinks of Max as a big, goofy sweetheart. She's grateful for his willingness to watch the kids whenever they need a babysitter!
Kathryn: Mitra and Kathryn were childhood friends who went separate ways for a while. They later regained contact with each other and started hanging out again. They like to talk about art and books, mostly.
Delilah: Kathryn's little sister, who has also become a good friend of Mitra's in recent years. They often see each other at the library. Mitra thinks Delilah is just a sweetheart!
Tigien: Another one of Mitra's regular library patrons. Mitra admires Ti's adventurous spirit, and she loves listening to his stories!
Other relationships:
Ozie's Mother: Mitra's (eventual) mother-in-law, who she respects for her gentle and caring nature. They only speak a limited amount of each other's language, so Ozie will often serve as their translator.
Monty: Friend of Maxwell's. Mitra and Monty have crossed paths a few times, and they both seem to get along with each other, despite sharing a quiet demeanor.
Amy: Friend of Delilah's. They've met each other maybe once or twice at the library? Amy seems pretty cool, based on Mitra's impressions of her.
Twiggy: - Mitra's beloved pet cat. Twiggy is her loyal companion spanning for roughly eighteen years, from her early teens to her early 30s
Candice: The mayor of Darlam, who also happens to be good friends with one of Mitra's mums. Mitra and Candice know each other by name and are friendly with each other.
Valorie & Qamar: As her son Corey gets older, these two will become his best friends, and they'll visit the family at their house fairly often. Mitra cares for them as if they were her own kids!
