Personality

Very shy, very soft-spoken, very out-of-the-way. Bordeaux isn't too much unlike our canon Blue Pearl, though unlike her, there is a measured hesitance in every move she makes. Bordeaux is overly cautious and careful, and extremely quick to frighten and fluster.

History

Bordeaux had a rough go of things at first, being granted to a typical high-ranking Homeworld gem with quite the mean streak. Her previous owner held no shreds of kindness or decency for her Pearl, and was more than fine even "reprimanding" her in public. Bordeaux dreaded her existence, and soon it became nothing more than trying to survive for her. One day, she learned she was to accompany her owner on a dignitary assignment--one that ended up being to the Distant Authority (and to say that she was overwhelmed, terrified, and cowed by learning of Diamonds she had never heard of, much less been in the presence of, would be saying the least). In a moment of lost focus, Bordeaux's owner started in on her in one of the foyers, likely going above and beyond to "show off" for the new Diamonds...who ended up, to her shock, not actually appreciating her actions at all. Gold Diamond, specifically, jumped down the gem's throat on the spot, even going so far as to separate her from Bordeaux, having her own Pearl step in to whisk her away behind her. The rest was a blur for Bordeaux, but before she knew it, the new Diamond had not only embarrassed her (now former) owner, but stripped her of ownership, citing that "if [she] couldn't be a responsible owner, then she shouldn't even have a Pearl to begin with". Ever since, she's stayed at the Distant Authority's palace, still overwhelmed, and still shocked almost every day by both Gold and her Pearl's gentleness and patience towards her. Effects still linger, but Bordeaux would be the first to tell you how grateful she is for this "second chance", of sorts. After all, who would argue with a Diamond?
