Dappledreed

Dappledreed is a kind, hardworking cat who is very passionate about what they do. They are super determined, and always tries their hardest in whatever they do. However, due to their past, They are a little insecure and indecisive. (Has imposter syndrome)

Dappledreed comes from a family of noble warriors. Due to this, they’ve always been pressured into being a warrior and taking up the warrior’s lifestyle. It started ever since they were a kit. Them and their brother were always given leaves to chase and were always encouraged to chase down bugs by their parents. One day, Dappled came to visit their brother in the medicine den, and she saw the medicine cat using simple plants to completely heal. This inspired their to be a medicine cat. Everyday, she tried to catch a glimpse of of the medicine den. Finally, the day arrived, the time to accept their apprentice rank, and their first step to being another honorable warrior. 

Then it happened.

The medicine cat, named  Honeyroot, chose their to be the next medicine cat. The cats broke into disruptive chatter, while their family was giving strained smiles. It was that moment that Dappled’s issues started crawling in.

 Honeyroot was actually very nice to Dappled, as they provided an open space for them to just be them. Everyday was a blessing from Starclan more than a day of work. Sure, some of the cats wouldn’t be nice to Dappled, but  Honeyroot was always there to help. With their encouragement, Dappled got to talk to their family about it. While they weren’t pleased with it, they still accepted it, albeit a little reluctantly. Things were good…

But, unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Honeyroot was older, and she eventually died, losing a battle with yellowcough. Now, all eyes fell on Dappled. Their safe space was gone.  Now, all eyes fell on Dappled. Their safe space was gone. Now, while they still put everything into their work, they still wonder if it’s ever enough.
