Evissice Blackwald

(Pronounced Ev-uh-sis)

(Voice: Someone who can do a dead onTwilight Sparkle from MLP:FIM (official VA can kick rocks), but with the Blizzard undead voice filter over it)

The undead before you wears the robes of a moderately-decorated Pandarian monk, and the medic’s satchel she carries bears the insignia of the Horde. In the places her clothes do not cover, you can see that she has wrapped her entire body in clean linen bandages to hide signs of decay. A cloth mask covers her mouth and nose, so that the only exposed skin on her is the upper half of her head.

Her long, gangly limbs seem as though they would make her movement awkward, but when seeing her in motion, you see a fluidity and grace brought about by years of intensive training.

You detect a faint misty aura as she walks by, as well as the lingering scent of fragrant herbs. Should you get close enough, you might smell the stubborn traces of formaldehyde that still cling to her body, and put two and two together about her covering it up with a more pleasant scent.

History:

Pre-Death:

Evissice Blackwald was the second daughter born to a farming family near the Western Plaguelands. Her grandfather had been a doctor, and left his collection of books to Evissice’s parents when he died. The books collected dust in the Blackwald family’s attic, until Evissice discovered them after learning how to read.

Of course, she didn’t understand most of what the pages held, but it didn’t matter: Evissice Blackwald became fascinated with medicine, and learned as much as she could from the old books when she was able to escape farm work.

As she grew older, Evissice began to study plants, and which ones could be used for medicine.

One day, at the age of approximately sixteen and a half years old, Evissice strayed just a little too far into the woods looking for plants to replenish her stores at home. A patrolling Dark Ranger shot her on sight, and carted her body off to Death Knell for the Val’Kyr to raise for the Forsaken army.

Undead, Pre-Pandaria:

Evissice did not understand what had happened to her when she came back as one of the Forsaken. Thinking it was all a nightmare, she fled to the outskirts of Brill, where she hid, hoping that she would soon awaken. This went on for several years - she stayed out of the way, so the other undead largely ignored her.

When the ambassadors of the Huojin Pandaren came to Tirisfal Glades, one of them spotted her and asked a simple question of the locals:

“Have you tried talking to her?”

The Pandaren explained Evissice’s situation to her, and upon hearing of the circumstances of her death, made an offer: she could continue her study of medicine at the monasteries in Pandaria.

As eager to leave Brill’s gloom behind as she was to receive instruction from the Pandaren healers, Evissice quickly agreed to the ambassador’s proposition.

Undeath, Post-Pandaria:

Evissice left the Pandaren monastery to apprentice under the Horde’s healers at Frostwall. By the time the Draenor campaign came to a close, she was ready to work as a full-fledged medic (thanks, in no small part, to not needing sleep as an undead; she was able to study long hours when the living would have needed rest).

She healed the wounded in the war against the Legion, and in seeing how many they were in number, came to a decision. Evissice would return to the monastery for instruction in how to defend herself, and others, before the next time apocalypse threatened Azeroth.

In Zandalar and Nazjatar, Evissice healed the Horde's injured soldiers.

During N'Zoth's invasion of the Vale, she had to break her personal philosophy of pacifism and defend against incoming aberrations.
