Ara was born to one of the few remaining drider in the Overworld, a poor seamstress who worked as the local tailor in a human village. Despite their rather grotesque appearance in the eyes of most mortals, the humans in town accepted Ara and his mother. Thanks to their skill at weaving, they were able to make a modest living with their tailoring business. Unsurprisingly, Ara came to master the trade, under his mother's watchful eye, and learned how to create lavish gowns and gentry suits from his own silky gossamer. After his mother's death, the young drider decided to continue her business, and Ara now acts as the sole proprietor to the Spinner's Webs and Fine Attire.
Personality
Ara is rather reserved and refined, despite what his appearance may imply. He is the last to speak his mind about things, but the first to offer a hand when someone needs help. Nothing pleases him more than simply having tea with company and discussing the happenings around town. Likewise, nothing irks him more than a rowdy customer or rugged adventurer come to 'slay the wretched beast'. Nature is something not to be ignored entirely, however, and there are times when Ara finds himself giving in to his baser needs of sucking blood and marrow from some unfortunate prey he's strung up with webbing in his cellar... of course, never humans though.

Character Notes
- Ara produces rather potent venom which acts as both an agent of paralysis and as an aphrodisiac. The later of the two effects is not something he is very keen about. In fact, its down right embarrassing.
- He'd never admit it, but Ara truly fears that he may be the last of his kind to exist outside of the abyssal, corrupted depths of the Underworld.
Design Notes
- Ara's design is loosely based off of a Black Widow, though his toxic green and blue abdomen takes the place of the Widow's red underbelly.
Related Characters
Gardenia [ Mother - Deceased ]
Ara's beloved mother. Her death left an immeasureable hole in his heart, and with how violent it was, has caused the young drider to seclude himself further from the humans around him. He struggles to trust them... though he knows it would be what his mother would want even now.
Diz [ Acquaintance ]
The first drider outside of his mother and father that Ara has ever met in the Overworld. Meeting Diz gives Ara hope that perhaps there are more of his kind somewhere free of corruption... though, he's not so sure after hearing that the wolf spider welp was raised by humans after his egg was stolen and sold on the black market.
