Although kindness does not run in Cora's blood, she is known by her peers as a kind, passionate woman. Her determination can, and often does, lead to stubbornness that is hard for her to resist. As someone who enjoys learning, Cora has bounced from university to university, collecting six full bachelor degrees in Marine Biology, History, Nursing, Physics, Astronomy, and Religion, in addition to four graduate degrees. However, she only uses two bachelor degrees and one graduate degree at a time to keep up appearances.

There isn't much that Cora is inherently "good" at. Her skills are learned throuh hard work and years of practice. Perhaps her only "talent" would be swimming; as the daughter of a Nereid, Cora has been drawn to the ocean for as long as she can remember. However, she was never able to fully join her mother in the water, and was forced to at least be partially confined to land. Her current apartment was chosen because of its generously sized pool area, since she is currently landlocked due to the location of her current university. She has joined a few swim teams while in school, but has to limit herself carefully so her name does not end up in the news.

To a point, Cora has always struggled with identifying as a woman. Some days it fits, other days it doesn't. In the 1990s she started identifying with the term nonbinary, but more recently, she discovered a word that really fits her, and that was demigirl. While she doesn't have much pride in it in the traditional sense, the fact that she now has a label for her feelings has given her substantial peace of mind. Her sexuality has been the source of similar turmoil. On the asexual spectrum, Cora has never really made it a point to seek out sexual relationships, or even romantic relationships for that matter. As much as people are drawn to her (partially due to her father being an incubus), it takes a long time for Cora to develop an interest in someone, and even longer before she's interested in sex. Despite this, she has managed to build a wonderful relationship with a werewolf named Stephanie.
