Profile

Deirdre Ghaactu is a Graveyard Mahar, originally from Shadowglen, who moved to Darkside after meeting Karayan and his peculiar pair of friends. Deirdre doesn't remember much of who she is or where she came from. As far as she knows, she's always been a Graveyard being, though even she's expressed some suspicion about it, mostly just because of how startlingly little she remembers of her past, even taking into account her already-spotty memory of the present.

In place of the shiny gems encrusting the bodies of most Mahar, she first awoke with several eyes on her chest and arms. These extra eyes give her a peculiar power, unique among Mahar- she is able to see bizarre visions of the past, future, and possibly even other timelines, in surreal, dreamlike visions superimposed atop reality. This would be quite useful, if she were able to control when it happened. While she can trigger it voluntarily if need be, she finds that it begins happening all on its own just as frequently. Due to seeing unreal glimpses into other times about half of the time she's up and about, the line between reality and her visions is a bit blurred, and she finds herself constantly bewildered and unsure of what to make of anything. She is very easy to confuse and has a hard time remembering things. That said, her ability to see other times does come in handy sometimes, and in fact, was very useful to Karayan and his friends in their quest to find a way to destroy Cassara for good.

Though she is continuously baffled by everything and seems to need frequent reassurance that what she's seeing is or is not, in fact, real, she's an amicable and friendly woman in her more lucid moments. Due to being Graveyard, she has increased regeneration, but any injuries dealt to her leave quite visible scars after they're done healing- hardly anything seems to heal "cleanly". She's startlingly brutal in battle, not that she'd really lift a finger to fight unless provoked.
