Leah

Leah Hale is not so much 'ambitious' as she is 'constantly preoccupied'. Inactivity tends to stress her out more than it relaxes her, so she tends to keep her schedule busy - between her Division I lacrosse career at UMBC and her dual major in chemistry and education, it's a miracle she has free time to spare, and yet she's recently picked up crocheting just to have something to keep herself occupied. She has a tendency to go over her head with such things, but she'd much rather be anxious with a goal in sight than anxious without.

Meticulous to a fault, Leah delights in organization, and has a very strong sense of right and wrong. Sometimes that's as minor as 'socks should never be rolled up so the elastic isn't damaged', and sometimes that goes as far as 'we should take in our homeless teenage internet friend and let her live with us in student housing', but no matter what, she cares passionately about doing what she feels is right - even if it doesn't always work out for the best. Thankfully, the two of them -- plus Leah's former classmate, Kyle -- live off-campus now, so they don't have to deal with any more run-ins from res life.

She's a very casually social person; while she won't go out of her way to spark conversation, she's more than happy to bounce off of other people, and often uses small talk as just another way to pass the time. Consequentially, she tends to have many more acquaintances than genuine friendships, and the latter have a tendency to fall by the wayside when she's overwhelmed.

Aside from scattered visits home, she doesn't spend much time with her family; it's not that they're actively malicious, she just often can't find the time, and tends to connect more to her pastimes than to them. Her younger sister, Andrea, is the family member she's the closest to: Andrea was the first person she confided in when Leah came out, and the two of them have always been hard to separate.
