“There are two types of adults. Those that like kids and those that like Esmeralda.”

Story:

Brendan was told that some people went to a certain elementary school to hear advices, to which he was half surprised and half not surprised.

"When people are lost and confused, they have a desire to hear all sorts of opinions before coming to a conclusion. An adult's opinion is not always valid, and a child's opinion is not always invalid. Yet, a child's world and an adult's world is a lifetime apart, it will take an adult in a child's body to offer opinions deemed valuable by an adult."

The

The sun sets over the roof of the building, illuminating the front gate which is now twice as busy due to the influx of parents picking up their children. Rodoin manages to talk to a handful of children today. Well, to be precise, a handful of groups of children. The children here seems interested in all sorts of adults' stories, problems, and drama.

"Still haven't left?"

The little girl asks.

"You seem like you're bothered about something. Would you like to talk?"

Rodoin sits down next to the girl and hands over a generously large lollipop—a currency on the grounds of childhood.

"How do you know I am still not satisfied?"

"Eh... most adults come here out of curiosity... or desperation. After they realize that children are children and cannot solve problems of money, college, and romance, they leave. You're lingering. You either love children or you belong to the desperate lot, searching for the light in the abyss."

Ah, fame at a young age can certainly corrupt youngsters, but Rodoin likes those who are like her.

"Very perceptive of you, young lady, but you may notice there are satisfied adults after leaving. Maybe some children here are capable of something." Rodoin suggests.

"Some do feel healed after seeing a more innocent side of the world. I wouldn't call that "problems solved"." The green haired girl twists the lollipop between her tiny fingers, bored. "Others just want to vent. Half problem solved, and double problem created, because they hear too many wild advice from children."

Rodoin fishes the lollipop out of the girl's hand and places a white wooden flower in the gap.

Kind and empathetic: Esmeralda used to be the type that cares only about herself. However, after being surrounded by young, innocent children, she becomes healed. She actually went out of her way and comforted the single mom of a classmate and the family of a classmate who was recently found with permanent paralysis, which led to the rumors surrounding magical elementary children capable of giving advice. And after listening to the stories told by the adults, Esmeralda becomes more empathetic towards others.

Mature: needless to say, Esmeralda is much older than the elementary children, maybe even older than some teachers. She lacks the childlike aura exhibited by most innocent beings. She has oval shaped eyes that always look tired. Most adults can tell that she is "quite mature for her age".

Lonely?: As an adult studying the same curriculum with elementary school kids, she nails everything she lays hands on, from curricular to extracurricular activities. Admiration from peers and teachers is something Esmeralda never had during her childhood, so she bathed in the attention and really feared returning to her normal life as an adult. Regardless, not everyone loves her, and Esmeralda deals with them badly (also due to her lack of experiences dealing with people). Jealous peers are deemed by Esmeralda as "beneath" her and she treats them as such, earning even more scorn. Teachers that dislike her maturity and eloquence (which often results in talking back) creates obstacles for her, which are faced with an aggressive "challenge accepted" attitude from Esmeralda that scares everyone.

Trivia:

She was assumed to be a deity at first due to her bearing striking similarities with Hamal.

She loves things that have uniqueness, such as handmade items or weird-looking things.

She loves art and would like to become an artist if she has a chance.

"Nuestra Señora de la Santa Muerte... please... in the next life, place me in an ordinary household, make me the child of two loving humans, give me the chance to become an artist."
