Markus M. Leon
Markus is a former sheep herder who was at the wrong place at the wrong time, then continued to make several more wrong decisions on his own spare time.
Originally born in a small village a regular demon, he always herded sheep and practiced his earth magic until the day he stumbled upon a box containing a large black pearl. He sold it to a travelling merchant and used his new riches to buy his darling dogbeast Mr. Snuggles and start travelling around, but was hunted down by the demon god Tomius, who cursed him by turning his legs into goat legs for losing track of an important artifact.
These days he is around Remco, an Ashen historian who was really interested in his legs and who convinced him to leave behind his life to go travel the world together. Though still not entirely used to his curse, having a friend opens up so many more possibilities in his life.
- For artists who want to draw him: I prefer art of his goat-legged design, but if you wanna tackle his demon-legged design go ahead!
- His hair's as good as always tied into a ponytail and kept together with his headband
- Even though his legs make him taller, he's still fairly short of height

- The black sheep shown in a lot of his art has died shortly after he started travelling, so it's no longer with him

Markus is a pale red skinned man whose most notable feature is his brown goat legs. Before he had these legs he had a height of 154 cm, but when he got them he got bumped up to 160cm or 5'3. He has a weight of about 58kg or 128lbs, the muscles in his chest and arms mostly contributing to the increase in weight.
He has an average looking face with almond shaped purple eyes, a thin and medium length nose, and an oval jawline. On his chin he has a goatee beard. He also has two small curved white horns.
He has very light straight hair, its colour a mix of lowly saturated orange and blond. He wears his hair at neck length and nearly always has it gathered in a small low ponytail.
The clothing he wears is light but a bit detailed. Most of the time he wears a pair of light brown trousers with darker brown lines running over the crotch area, but a more simple brown single colour pair isn't a rare sight. On his chest he wears a linen shirt with rough short sleeves. Above that he wears a semi-transparent light green robe that is wrapped around his chest and behind his waist with a dark green belt around the waist that keeps it in place. On his left shoulder he wears an iron and leather shoulderpad that is fastened by two belts that run over his chest and under his right arm. On top of that, he wears a dark green cloak that splits in two at his neck. He's prone to wear bandages around the arms for better spellcasting and he wears several pendants and gems around the neck, all of those gold and green in colour. He also has green gem earrings in both ears. He nearly always wears his green headband. Sometimes he carries a wooden stave with him.
There are two forms of his: before he got goat legs, and after he got goat legs. Before he had his goat legs he had regular humanoid legs and a long demonic tail. Back then he also used to wear brown boots reaching up to just below the knee. After he got the goat legs, he also got a short fluffy goat tail and he stopped wearing his boots. He usually still wears pants but if it's too hot he leaves them off because the fur covers everything anyway.

Remco is Markus' first demon friend since his legs were changed and he was exiled. They started off rocky but quickly befriended each other. Remco had a fascination with Markus' condition and Markus was eager to leave his village and go with Remco on his adventure.
Mr. Snuggles ✦ Pet
Mr. Snuggles is Markus' sheep guardian. He's a drake between a dog and a reptile and Markus has raised him since he was a pup. This animal is one of the most important figures in Markus' life and he took him with him when he left his village to travel.
Tomius Feren ✦ Enemy
Markus doesn't understand what Tomius' deal is, but he holds a strong grudge against him for being involved with the circumstances that led to his exile.
Markus was a simple man born in a simple village. He was born with normal legs, only got the ones he currently has later in his life.
He was raised to be a sheep herder in one of the many small villages scattered around the southern plains of the southern Bloodlands. Most of his days involved traveling around with sheep during the day. Not too much of a fun job, but it got food on his family's plate.
Out of boredom he learned how to cast earth magic and was busy reshaping the terrain he walked past whenever he was out with his sheep. His seas of free time allowed him to develop the skill quite nicely until he became a pretty good mage. None of his magic was combat related, only about moving rocks, dirt, and terrains around to help him with sheep herding and to cure his boredom.
One day when he was as usual exploring the ground he walked over, he stumbled upon a box. In the night he returned to dig it up and found a small wooden box with a black pearl. He took the thing back home in the hopes of selling it there and found a buyer immediately the next day. He used the money he gained from it to buy himself a guardian drake pup to help him with his sheep herding.
Only days later, though, he was encountered by the demon god Tomius who condemned him for setting free the pearl and cursed his legs to break, stretch, and deform into goat-shaped legs. Unable to walk he crawled home where at first he got medical help, but after days he mostly got shunning looks.
He met with mean looks more and more often and eventually his own family bought into the rumour that he had angered the gods and was made half beast as a penalty. Markus denied it even if it had some truth to it, but his looks were too unusual and he was threatened with violence and death if he didn't leave immediately. He took his pup and some of his few belongings with him to find another village to live in.
Many people were wary of him, saw him as a bad omen or an evil man, or flat out attacked him when he tried to find refuge in a village. He got by buying food with the leftovers of his earnings from selling the pearl, but finding merchants willing to to business with him wasn't all that easy. Eventually he managed to settle in a less superstitious village that had been losing members to migration and needed more people to tend to their sheep.
His life more or less calmed down again, and while he wasn't kicked out of this village, people still didn't like him as much and ended up avoiding him whenever possible. He resumed his job as a sheep herder there but the events back at home changed him. It was still pleasant work, but no longer having family or friends felt bad. He wanted to save up money and leave for a bigger city, go somewhere he had a chance at meeting new people who actually weren't scared of him. Larger city, larger chance of someone like that existing.
That's when he met Remco. First he was snooping around his sheep and Markus scared him away, then he ran into him asking about his legs in the village. He was very annoyed with him at first, but he was the only person who had approached him with excitement and appreciation for his unusual legs so he might as well give him a chance.
They ended up becoming friends and Remco convinced Markus that traveling didn't require that much money at all, or even planning, as he was just winging it and going wherever he felt like going. Markus and Mr. Snuggles left the village to join Remco on his quest to see the entire world and to document all of its history.
