-Backstory-
Back in the first couple of years of the restoration of magic, life was hectic, unpredictable, and often extremely dangerous. Nowhere and no one was safe. Your best friend could have been replaced by a malicious skinwalker. The tree you've decided to rest on might just get up and step on you. Even the cute little pond or the lake could have something lurking below the surface.

And that it did.

Albeit, not so much below the surface as it was in the surface. The stray ley line underneath the pond leaked magical energy into the water. The locals soon found this out when the supplies tap water from the lake were giving people assorted abilities. One could create frost at the touch of his fingertips, one could change water into any liquid imaginable, and one got something similar a whole body Leidenfrost effect, water slinging off her faster than a bullet.

They knew the water was magical and were elated at the miraculous liquid, selling off bottles far and wide, consuming it daily, draining the lake quicker than it could refill. This over-consumption was the straw that broke the camel's back, leading the lake to congregate into a conscious mass. A swirling, toiling, rolling form of pulsing water, mist, and malice. A being given form by the magical energy of the lake, with an innate desire to drive invaders away from it's home.

There was an explosion from the water with enough power to send water 50 feet high. Assorted locals, some of which were the lucky few to achieve abilities from the water readied for a beast, lowering their hands when they saw an uncannily still woman floating at the center of the lake.

That was their mistake

Within an instant, gushes of pressurized water shot out of her mouth, knocking over many, sending one flying into a tree. The lake seethed and rolled as the elemental accrued more and more strength, her form expanding and contracting. She had destroyed most of the landscape around the lake when she felt her core thrust towards the edge of the pond by something beastly. She turned back in her enraged state to see a lone seal, staring at her with a fierce intensity

The selkie once again pushed the elemental away from the water, and the elemental felt less angry than before, instead of feeling more confused and bewildered. The seal slammed into her, again and again, her solid form somehow able to move the elemental with ease.

The weaponized water was 35 feet away from the lake when it fell to the ground and became silent. And with that, the first real thoughts as Fiona were in her head, no longer clouded with malignant energy.

With that, a new boon to the community was born.
