「History」

There was a large city, rich in its country's colorful culture, that got wiped out instantly from the earth when a war wrecked havoc to the land. A single destructive light melted nearly everything and everyone that it reached, as if the heavens themselves have crashed down to erase all traces of civilization; those who survived but were touched by this light still felt as if they were burning days after and eventually died an agonizing death. But in their final moments they all prayed for a miracle and hoped that even if their people were to be erased from existence, their memory will still live on.

It was only several decades later that the descendants of the lost people returned to their homeland; lush overgrowth can be seen covering the ruins of what was left. The sole elder who once saw the city prior to its destruction was the daughter of the mayor; she was stricken with nostalgia as her weathered hand touched the remaining walls where her home once stood. She desired to rebuild the city her forefathers loved so dearly. Hearing her prayer, a human-shaped being with silken skin and appendages curiously approached her. "Ayako" (meaning kimono design, child) was the name the elder granted the divine yet childlike being, and was later realized to be the holder of the city's memories. Once the first home was built in the city reconstruction, Ayako took residence with the elder's family to help recover and write down the city's once lost history and tradition. Ayako is touched by the warmth of a family and swore to protect them as long as they live; she is often seen playing with the children and wearing a handed-down elementary uniform.
