Talla's Links
A dear, trusted friend. Absolutely adored and looked out for always.
His best and closest friend. Loves her a lot, trusted completely. Entrusted with something very important to him.
"But if you tame me, then we shall need each other"
Has felt a strong connection with since Irene was a newborn. Only given more reason to adore as the Dove grows.
‘Lala’ - Da’s friend. Loves her, enjoys the times when Talla comes to visit. Wants to show her how to read.
Brother.
A rocky start that has blossomed into one of the most treasured, trusting relationships the roe has ever had. Completely and utterly adored.
Sister. Only a child's immense curiosity at first, quickly turning into the most trusted and loved family member and right after becoming his only family. Will protect to death if needed.
Never sure how she feels about him. Important and respected, but circumstances have often led to her feeling disappointed or let down by him.
Do you always have to be the voice of reason
An old, dearly loved friend. An irrevocable part of her life, even years after Alma's disappearance.
Make me believe I can change.
A relationship strained by Alma's own disappearance and distance, but never broken. Protect.
Echoes into current timelines as out of place memories.
Kinship. Evokes feelings of nostalgia, deeply curious of.
A pearl in the ocean he once frequented. She is one of the few he keeps a keen eye out for whenever he dives back in.
Morbid fascination, an exploratory relationship on her end. Ross' friend. wordsplx
A complicated obsession, but adored through and through. Believes her mind to be among the very deepest and most complex he's ever known, and treasures every word and every poetic metaphor and every verbal symbolism that stumbles out of her and paints imagery so alarmingly vivid and profound in his own mind that he can often FEEL it. He believes in her fragility, but has never believed that it defines her or is all she is comprised of. There exists a certain morbidity in her that he's excruciatingly aware of and drawn to, and he seeks to know it as wholly as he can and even foster its growth and development wherever possible. He is intent on 'infiltrating her mind', a sentiment he has directly expressed to her in the past. Monroe is convinced Talla has some kind of untapped potential only he may be able to eventually access or guide her toward whilst everybody else seems too busy believing she must be utterly protected and coddled and sheltered—he's under the impression that too few others believe her to be as capable as he does. As highly impacted as he's been by a number of meaningful and significant exchanges they've shared over time, the 'safety' from the worst of him that it all grants her simultaneously puts her in the greater 'danger' that is the natural result of his fondness... and he has become so very fond of the blood butterfly.
A cherished old friend. Grateful to be able to trust her and for the support always offered by the Starkeeper. Kindred spirit.
One of her most prominent nightmares, scarred by.
Sees her as a toy, amused by her fear. In the past would chase her relentlessly. Not much has changed in the present, though he has now learned that his mere presence is enough to alarm her and may just opt to slowly stalk her instead.
A dear friend. Trusted, though not without her quiet anxieties regarding the hyena. Regarded highly.
One of the sweetest friends she’s ever had. Another she’d protect at all costs. Thankful for her quiet solidarity through rough times. Looked up to simply because of her gentleness despite all the years of torment the forest brings its inhabitants.
Beloved, familial. A grounding, ever-welcoming presence of warmth and comfort, often quiets the roe's anxieties.
'Ta'. Beloved, family. Known since childhood and always a beacon of comfort and welcoming. Doesn't quite have a name for their relationship, a deep platonic bond that is as strong as any other loved tie in her life.. Loves and would gladly put her life on the line for.
An old, dear friend. Comfortable and trusted company. Aware of, though not privy to, his complexities, doesn't hold them against him.
Fond of and watches over, but remains distant toward. Neither knows how to act around her, nor if she would be stepping on any toes knowing her better - assuming Phaios likes her at all. As Phai has grown, some of these feelings have diminished somewhat.
One of Ross's most frequent companions, and therefore important to her as well. Not entirely sure the roe likes her, sometimes, but has never found her to be anything other than kind (albeit shy).
Occasionally feels sympathetic toward, though always finds it misplaced. Frightened of and strongly suspects he views her as little more than a tool to hurt Ross with, especially after a recent encounter.
A plaything. Better yet, a plaything that Rossamund likes and which Ajo can use to get at the Myling. Rarely bothers with her except to mess with Ross, unless he wants a quick pick-me-up - and even then rarely inflicts physical damage. She just makes it so easy.
Initially, little more than a nightmare. Though never seriously harmed by, the giant doe's torment extended beyond the pursuits that felt all too real. A massive turning point in their relationship came years later, when Illrose came to Nidhem's aid without a moment of hesitation at the Blood Butterfly's request. Saw enough, then, that her opinion softened. May never fully trust, or forgive, for her terror, but has a deep fondness for the Dragon Doe all the same.
One of the unfortunate individuals who was on the receiving end of Illrose's wrath when she was first thrown into the forest. Never tried to outright harm or kill, but chased and harassed on several occasions. Embarrassed and ashamed by the memory of this, glad that Talla seem to, if not forgiven her then at least having been able to look past her former behaviour. Special circumstances later brought them together when they had to help Nidhem, and now she wouldn't let anything or anyone harm Talla.
Becoming a favoured presence within the herd that has been congregating in the woods of late.
Seen around the outskirts of the herd on some occasions, which has sparked her curiosity. Can relate to the other's apparent skittishness, so tries her best not to be too abrupt around the blue hind.
Has always held a quiet fondness for Cree. Loyal to in a myriad of small, private ways, and endeared by what she sees of the doe's heart.
Another face she recognises, but does not remember how or why. A quiet, but very much welcomed presence, Talla provides an incredibly calming atmosphere simply being there. While a vast majority of the forest's inhabitants tower over Cree, Talla gives that breath of fresh air and sense of instant equality by, more or less, being similar in size. Seeks out when she's around.
adored. complicated. i see you dead more often than i see you alive.
