Chronos

So this man had a nice life with his wife and kids until one day he came home early from work and found his wife attempting to murder their kids. She had planned on murdering them all and moving far away, free from the responsibility of having a family. To defend his kids, he shot and killed her. When the police arrived, they arrested him and the kids were taken to their aunt's house. He agreed that he indeed killed her, but said it was self defense and the kids could back up his claims, sadly the kids were considered too young to be witnesses, along with the fact that they wouldn't find any scars or bruises from resisting to prove that killing her was the last option for self defense. It looked like he was gonna lose and go to jail for life, so instead he fled and became a man on the run. Taking up quick jobs and only paying in cash to minimize any footprint that could be used to find him. One day he slipped up his real name to the wrong person and the police were hot on his trail. In a last attempt for freedom, he pleaded with a known sorcerer to do whatever they could to save him. They knew the only way to never get caught was to send him somewhere no one was, you can't get caught if there's no one to catch you. So they sent him to live in the clouds, where no one could reach him
