Jemimah

Jemimah is a very dramatic woman. She absolutely loves to ham up her reactions to things - think like “fainting couch” or “spit take” kind of dramatics. Sure, it can get a bit over the top. But what’s the harm in being over the top? Jemimah wears her emotions not only on her sleeves but also in neon lights above her head. She’s totally fine being an open book.

If there’s one thing Jemimah won’t give up, it’s her opinions. She is extremely firm about what she thinks, and refuses to change her mind. It’s almost impossible to change her mind once it’s set, especially if you don’t want to deal with her drama. It has happened though - she’s married Tamryn, who she previously harbored an extreme dislike for.

Despite all this, however, Jemimah is a very warm and friendly person. People have a tendency to gravitate towards her. She enjoys being around people, and is willing to lend an ear to listen to their problems. Of course, she’s also smart enough to know when her advice isn’t needed or wanted. There’s been too many times when her advice has messed someone up.

Jemimah is a people watcher. She finds people fascinating and wants to know everything about how they function. A lot of her time is spent observing them in a scientific way. Nothing against the people, of course. She just happens to have a long life ahead of her and there’s a lot of things to learn about the way people work. Jemimah enjoys learning after all.

Thankfully, Jemimah is one of those people who doesn’t really care about how other people see her. Sure, she likes to play up her reactions for dramatics. However, she has a very mature way of dealing with criticism, which is that she considers it and throws away the things that aren’t helpful with no more than a shrug.

Jemimah was born and raised among human society. Her parents were a ringox and a ringox-human hybrid, and they loved her very much. As such, she was not particularly involved with ringox society and only knew the bare minimum. Sure, her parents occasionally took her to the Shrine Realm, but other than that she was content to hang around humans.

This changed when, during one of the family’s brief trips to the shrine realm, the cult of the Exiled One attacked. Jemimah’s fully ringox parent was killed for their tails and her hybrid parent was mortally wounded for standing up for their family. As a last act, her parents gave her directions to a place free from the cult.

That place was the Golden Isles, which had systems in place for her to be able to set down some roots. It took a while for her to settle though - she had to mourn her parents while starting a brand new life. Her heart was torn in two, after all.

After a few years, Jemimah was finally in a place where she was mentally stable enough to start setting up her own life. She wanted friends, and what better way to make friends than to start up a nightclub?

So, Jemimah started up Glowstick, her nightclub. Incidentally, Glowstick was on the same street as another nightclub, Club Paradise. The two clubs being on the same street spawned a rivalry.

At first, Jemimah thought it was all in good fun. However, as the years passed the rivalry strengthened and she developed a healthy dislike for Club Paradise’s owner, Tamryn. Much of her mind was taken up with ways she could one-up him.

This would’ve lasted quite a bit longer if their mutual friend Juliette didn’t practically force them into talking to each other and dealing with their issues. Eventually, this turned into a friendship and then, slowly, into a romance.

Turns out that they actually had a lot in common. So, Jemimah ended up falling in love with Tamryn. They ended up going on many dates, falling in love, and starting a family together. Club Paradise and Glowstick became partner clubs instead of rivals.
