Tasp

Member of a band of mercenaries, Tasp is an outgoing and sociable fellow who is skilled with a sword. He has a sharper mind than many of his fellow soldiers, who are often thwarted by his feints in fighting and tricks in gambling. Tasp loathes being called Tasperion, a fact his fighting comrades were delighted to discover. Tasp is the beloved of Greyshadow, the elven dark mage.

Tasp's earliest memories are of being raised by a woman who took in orphaned children, having them work to support each other or selling them on to others. He spent some early years working on a farm before being sold on to a mercenary group, and then bouncing through that line of work for the rest of his life. All he has left from his parents is his name; his place of origin and background are unknown to him, as well as his exact age.

Although smart, Tasp can neither read nor write, having never had much of a need to learn in his lifestyle. He does however have a surprisingly artistic streak, and could probably copy a page of text very neatly without any idea what it says. He doesn't have the means to draw often, but when he does he tends to doodle fanciful nonsense like coiling dragons and cartoonishly lewd pictures of authority figures.
