About:
     Richard lives a relatively solitary life out in the forested mountains near the coast. He's not totally alone though. He's accompanied by his numerous cats that come by his house for food throughout the day. He loves them all and has given each one of them a name. He keeps one of them inside, a large Maine Coon who he named Kat. She often accompanies him outside when he's out lobster fishing or getting firewood. They especially enjoy going out in snowy weather.
     He isn't well acquainted with too many other states. A few think he's gone crazy from all his cats. Some of the more serious and easily irritable states are instantly turned off by his unending stream of "terrible" puns, some of which center around the word "Maine". He often refers to himself as "your Maine man". How unfortunate it is that Tom, an already extremely fractious person, lives in his general area. Richard doesn't seem to realize Tom hates his jokes with a burning passion, even remaining completely oblivious to Tom's outbursts telling him to stop.
