Ghazi would describe themself as a fun, flirty, strong, and rock star phenomenon, which fortunately for them, many of their friends would agree on all fronts, except for the phenomenon part. They are tremendously friendly and ostentatious. They are also a very privileged person, having never had a "real" job and growing up in Abu Dhabi with their wealthy family. Their fighting career has been so successful that they have never really had to worry about finances.
Moving to the USA enabled Ghazi to come out of their shell, which lead to a dramatic change in personality. Some people would find their friendliness to be off-putting but they are otherwise very confident and kind-hearted. They would always gladly offer help if they noticed a stranger struggling with something, and have no issue passing the time by making small talk with strangers.
When participating in MMA their first learned style that they exhibit is Jiu-Jitsu, but they also practice Kyokushin which is their preferred discipline.
Ghazi's band is named Witch Pact, with three other members: Hazel, Alfonso and Keira. Their sound tends to be more ethereal metal with mostly traditional instruments and a few digital elements added in by Keira. They are the band's frontman, by being both the lead singer and guitarist.
They tend to be a bit willfully ignorant of current events and in general do not have the most sophisticated of minds. They'd much prefer vapid gossip over discussing history or politics. That was really just verbose way of saying 'they're a bit of a dummy.'
✦ Appearance
Ghazi is a little below average in height and very fit. They're rather curvy and have a pronounced hourglass figure. Though they are quite muscular, they have a bit of a softer appearance, as they do not cut the way most bodybuilders do. They already inherited rather stocky legs from practicing a kick-based martial art but they target this area when working out to accentuate their appearance.
Ghazi wears a variety of clothing styles, but they tend to stray rather feminine. They wear makeup in their casual wear, usually opting for smoky eyeshadow. They're also a fan of jewelry and have both of their ears pierced, so they are usually wearing earrings if any jewelry at all.
They love sporty looks, revealing ensembles and tight clothes; there is no shame in their presentation and they are clearly very proud of their physique.
Music and performing with their band. They also really enjoy writing music as well. |
Shopping. For anything. Even groceries. But especially clothes and accessories. |
MMA & exercise. |
The beach and all related beach activities, which they unfortunately no longer experience where they live. |
Every insect ever. Even "cute" ones like butterflies and ladybugs. ESPECIALLY spiders, centipedes and scorpions. Tangentially related: mice and rats, bats, snakes, and any other typical phobia creature. |
Being too far away from a city/civilization. |
Not being taken seriously. |
"Boring" things, like math and history. Also depressing news. |
Ghazi is a professional fighter by day, aspiring rock star by night.
They were born in Abu Dhabi into a family that had been well established in the locale for a few generations, making them wealthy from day one. Though their family never achieved disgusting excessive capital, they were more than comfortable growing up and afforded many opportunities to pursue their interests. As a child, they were most interested in music, and took years of both vocal lessons and guitar lessons to develop their skill.
As Ghazi grew older, the pressures of starting their own life began to come into fruition. Their parents were expecting them to get a respectable profession and urged them to pick a focus going into their secondary school. They had always been a bad student, so naturally studying to be a doctor or lawyer was at the complete opposite end of the spectrum from their interests.
They struggled a lot with their identity and how it meshed with their family dynamics, and ended up picking up Kyokushin when they were almost a teenager, with the initial motivation being to perform more masculinity but with the added benefit of making themself less of a target. They ended up developing a passion for fighting further driven by their amazing ease of picking up the sport.
Ghazi went through school as an average student, certainly not intelligent enough to impress any teachers into recommending them to any advanced college programs, which was fine by them and extraordinarily disappointing for their parents. They did end up going to university, but mostly to postpone their obligation to start working as long as possible. They managed to get a bachelor's degree in finance despite doing poorly in class. They managed to tolerate living unemployed with their family until the age of 23. It was the pressure to conform to their family's idea about who they should be was what drove them to seek other avenues. They moved to Bahrain having been accepted as a professional fighter, and stayed there until Rashmi scouted their talent at the age of 28. They moved to the USA to join her school in Denver, Colorado at 29, and have been living there since.
Hazel | Best friend/bandmate, also FWB. |
Remi | FWB and former pseudo-boyfriend |
Kaz'dram | Band rival and sort-of-friend. Also a hook-up. |
Raissa | A friend that they are hopelessly in love with and admire to the point of idolization. |
Drey | Friend |
Rashmi | Instructor |
Nalmu | Instructor |
● Ghazi speaks two languages fluently, Arabic and English. Their English speaking isn't flawless, but it's very fluent and their understanding is almost perfect, with a few complex words and phrases beyond their knowledge. |
● They are not a very strict practitioner of Islam but they do avoid most things considered haram, such as drinking alcohol. They do pray and believe. They are not super vocal about being religious but understandably can be very sensitive about it. |
● Ghazi has six guitars, and their collection will most likely grow in the future. Two of which are acoustic. |
● Ghazi is really into soccer/football and is constantly frustrated with the lack of enthusiasm their US native friends have for the sport. |
