- has a mild presence but also isn't shy by any means
- has no filter and uses a lot of explicit language, but never in an aggressive tone, more like they're talking about the weather
- has an arrhythmia due to a congenital heart defect that causes shortness of breath and fainting sometimes, they've been to the hospital for it a few times but don't mention it to people until it's relevant
- clumsy at the worst possible moments
- cleans a lot out of habit and is good at cooking
- sushi/sashimi is their fave food, they're a pescatarian. also they can't handle spicy food
- they drink a lot of tea and coffee
- super sensitive hearing, possibly because of their ears being super long and pointy. can get overwhelmed in noisy environments because of this and sometimes feels a need to slip out and get some peace and quiet

- seems apathetic on the outside but actually cares a lot about other people and can't leave someone alone if they're in trouble, especially if they're in actual danger
- they are naturally gifted with some empath abilities that give them something of a gut feeling for other people's feelings and intentions, although they aren't really aware of this and just consider it their intuition
- quite fond of nature and taking walks, sometimes even napping outside

- gifted with psychic abilities, with which they have developed the ability to teleport small inanimate objects and their own person over relatively small distances within their line of sight, as well as relatively weak telekinesis to float the same things. they aren't able to use telepathy or read minds or anything of that sort
- genuinely believes in alternate dimensions and does serious research into it, claims to have had their own encounters with extradimensional beings. it's unclear if said encounters were real or really bad drug trips, but they've managed to get their research funded by an academy in the city and are currently investigating links involving ancient texts and ruins
- during their research, they also hit what they believe to be leads on an ancient civilization that has left behind various mysterious ruins throughout the world, of which very little written records and information exist. due to these ruins' reactions to psychic power, verdi has come to believe this civilization existed during an age when psychic abilities were very common compared to the current day, and is trying to dig up more information to further this theory
- while they don't exactly possess genius intellect, they have a great ability to think outside the box and approach things in uncommon ways, which seems to lead them to interesting discoveries sometimes that perhaps no one else would find
- they moved to the city for the academy, and are currently staying at the inn that solveig's mom runs and help out there
- they had a very good early childhood, and were raised by kind-spirited religious parents whom they loved dearly. they were a very polite and well-mannered child who enjoyed helping around the house, taking lessons, etc., but when they were around ten years old, their parents suddenly passed away in unrelated accidents a few weeks apart, and their life has veered off course ever since
- their aunt and uncle on their mom's side took them in out of responsibility, and seemed to hold a lot of disdain for the child, believing them to be bad luck and responsible for their mother's death. verdi began to believe it too, thinking that perhaps things would be better if they weren't around
- while it was a childish plan, they packed up their things and quietly left home one night, never to return. they left town and, being just a young child lacking in life experience and survival skills, quickly became lost and hungry, and somehow ended up getting taken in by a witch who lives in a sketchy swamp house that adopted them and took on the role of their mother
- they have a good relationship with their adoptive witch mom, but she's terrible about cleaning and dangerous in the kitchen, so verdi developed those skills as a survival mechanism. they visit home here and there, and every time they do, the first thing they do is aggressively clean the house
- they stopped being religious because of their parents' deaths and have somewhat of an aversion to it now
- they've been surrounded by freak accidents and scary sightings since their parents passed away, many of them related to death, which has given them odd supernatural beliefs and a lot of trauma
- growing up they've probably seen like 10 different cryptids and a random dead body in the woods
- high school crush also died in a freak accident
