Born part of the Australian Greek Diaspora - Megara's family was forced to sever ties with the local orthodox church over her appearance when she was a baby. A little hairy? Ok. two extra pairs of limbs? Uhh. Those eyes? Those horns?
Perhaps that would have been enough to keep an unusually close-knit family together as she homeschooled growing up. But her parents kept on getting 'unpleasant' responces when trying to keep their daughter in line.
Peredharna *was not* where she originally took her vows. Peredharna was where people could ignore her physical features to help her work on her other... deficiencies in character.
