Profile

Description

Truth and justice are the core of Abby’s ideals. Growing up and being taught that you should always help the people close to you, Abby was always adamant to do so. Whenever she watched crime shows as a kid, she wanted to be the one to bring down the hammer of justice. Abby does not appreciate someone trying to tell her differently from what she thinks, even if it is the truth. She is still trying to figure out how to deal with the fact that the ‘truth’ she seeks for is not the ‘truth’ that she has already solidified in her mind.

Abby grew up in a rich household, with her father as one of the richest businessmen in Fargone and her mother as a successful actress. You think it would be a recipe for neglecting parents, but the Quenevere motto: “Never leave family behind” clearly contradicts it. It does not take away that Abby has grown a bit snobby and is not very used to other people’s intentions to save money and limit yourself in what you can afford.

Abby likes to be in control of things. She prefers to predetermine people’s behaviour but seems baffled every time someone else does something unpredictable, which happens a lot. This is probably because Abby is not really a people’s person. She is desperate to get attention from the people around her, but her aloof, judgy and distancing comments make her look like she does not care about the people around her. She wants to be strong and reliable in character, but instead she often comes over as uninterested and mean-spirited. Because of it, she has no real childhood friends left and instead clings to the friends of her little brother, who knows she means well. In more recent years, she knows her flaws in character and tries to make her intentions clearer, but it is often still a struggle.

Always wanting to be interesting, Abby cares a lot about her appearance. She puts a lot of work in her outfits and in how she carries herself. She fakes her bed hair, the ruffles in her blouse and the holes in her pants to act like she does not really care about how she looks, but during parties and higher-class events, she wants to make sure she leaves an impression with her appearance. She often uses difficult words that she herself does not know the meaning of to sound smart. It often brings her in conflict; wanting to impress and fake herself or wanting to be truthful to herself and be real.

Still, Abby has a good head on her shoulders. She is great at analyzing a situation and can be very persuasive when it comes to both logical and subjective arguments. She is ambitious and puts a lot of work and determination into what she likes to do. Hell, she has a law degree, that’s not something to scoff at.

(We don’t talk about her teen goth phase, she’s still recovering)

Abilities

Abby has no superhuman abilities, nor is she very fit or trained. Abby mostly uses wit to get out of sticky situations. The courtroom is her ideal playfield, since it’s a fair playing field, guided by rules. She is a real champion in reasoning and diplomacy.

Her determination to get things done is probably her strongest feature, which makes her do courageous feats, often wanting to sacrifice herself for others or the greater good.

Notable Comic Arcs:

  • Far(from)Gone (Chaotic Rhyss! #113-134): plotline where the hinted criminal activities in the industry sector of Fargone start back up. Factories are being used for smuggling and several traders have set up a plan together to hijack the entire city. Although she is not a big part of the arc itself, it is stated that Abby, as an intern to the Fargone Law Offices, help in the research of finding many corrupt attorneys that were part of the Fargone Law District. Afterwards, she and Luka live together in an apartment in Fargone.
  • Call to War: Trial of Ion (???): Abby defends Tesla (known as the hero Ion) in court, for supposedly killing Set. Abby is able to get Ion off scott-free. This is the first big case for Abby. The fact that she manages to get Ion out of any sentencing, especially with the hoops she had gone through, gives her quite some fame in the world of law.
  • End of Minerva/Owl of Minerva: Abby assigns herself to a murder case where Alina is assigned as a detective. Alina has a suspicion that her sister, Prescill, also known as Minerva the Silent, is behind the murder. Abby is able to pin the murder on her, getting her a prison sentence, which Prescill is genuinely relieved about, being freed from her assassin life. A year later, Abby and Alina find out the mastermind behind Prescill’s assassin group. Abby risks her life to find Thorne Clover guilty, since they threaten her with sending their assassins to kill her. She succeeds however in finding Thorne Clover guilty, effectively disbanding the group of assassins, that were forced to work under them.
  • Chaos! Going Global! (Chaotic Rhyss! #520-#545): Malka’i relics that have been scattered all over the world have started to go beserk, making them appear as beasts. In Germany, Loud Lass gets arrested for using her powers on the public. Abby defends Loud Lass in court, showing them that Loud Lass had to use force to make sure the public was safe. Rhyss afterwards apologizes to Abby for being gone and leaving everyone behind, which Abby scoffs at, saying that he has still probably saved more lives than she ever could.
  • Oblivaeon/Schism (Chaotic Rhyss! #623-633): As most big heroes are trying to stop Schism and his enforcers, Abby, who was now one of the members of Friend Force!, helps with the search and rescue, being the headquarters of communication, not just for Friend Force!, but for other heroes alike who want assistance.

Comic Notes (Can be expanded or retconned on whenever):

  • Abby stays distant from the friend group in the early years since she feels like she’s too old and cool for them. Once she realises that her own friends suck, she starts hanging out more with the crew, as well as Res, which she considers her ‘normal friend’.
  • Abby is Derek’s sister.
  • Abby starts living together with Luka in an apartment close to Fargone University
  • During the Modern Era, she becomes a prosecutor.
  • She and Rowen, defense attorney are rivals who slowly become friends due to their love of justice.
  • Abby has a soft rivalry with Jake. They face off in Trial of Ion.
  • She is an additional member of Friend Force!, not really taking up a heroic alias and appearance, but helping behind the scenes by being ‘the woman in the chair’ when it’s needed.
  • Helps Alina with finding Prescill guilty of her crimes, and eventually helps them again by solving the case of Thorne Clover.
