Silent, unseen, and deadly.

Urban, like most Vaucu, is skittish and easily frightened, a fast, lean little thing who, despite this, is fiercely territorial. Unlike his fellow Vaucu however, who are extremely social and gravitate towards others- he is everything that friendly is not. Urban does not wait, he does not open up, and above all else, he will never trust. So painfully lonesome is he, that even he doesn’t know how he’s gone this long without meaningful interaction. He survives fine, he’ll tell himself, after all, despite his irregular behavior for a Vaucu, it’s all more than justified in his opinion.

"I don't want you here."

You see, in their human-dominated world, Vaucu are low on the ranks, lower than the average pet, hell, lower than the pest- To humans, they’re worse, they’re parasites. Not only has their inability to speak shot them down to the bottom, but their heavily poisonous spines that line their body have proven deadly to humans. And of course, the humans don’t like that. Urban has experienced it firsthand, the way those like him are treated- and to him, that's all the trauma he needs to know that trusting someone- trusting people, always ends badly, always.

A protector of what is forgotten.

Urban isn’t mean, he isn’t a jerk. He’ll never spit in your coffee or kick your dog, but he will avoid you, and it’s up to you to make sure you don’t accidentally tread his path. That lifelong advice that they’re probably more afraid of you than you are of them? Yeah. That holds true here. However, you see, Urban does have his boundaries, strong ones in fact. And if one crosses those boundaries, he will lash out. Friends or enemies?- no such thing. The slightest threat, the slightest step on his territory- he will lash out until the threat is gone.

"Actions speak louder than words."

Being a fast, almost ninja-like Vaucu with a near unmatched agility and reflexes, he shouldn’t need friends to feel safe. But- He does have friends? Friends who care about him. Inuxen, Dionae and all the others- they actually do care.... Right? He’s not sure why he’s so close with them but for now he’s fine with traveling with them, with helping them. They respect his boundaries- and that’s already more than he expects. Perhaps the unexpected isn’t worth being afraid over... Just maybe.
