A half-human Raven tamer from human lands, Mars is a young, hot-headed, introverted little nugget. He enjoys magic, and has been trying to master his craft for a while, catching plenty of curtains on fire and exploding a kitchen once. He's doing his best.

Having been through some shit during his childhood, Mars is a pretty distrusting guy, it takes a while to gain his trust yet its really easy to lose it. Despite this, he's a very loyal person, which has gotten him into trouble ocassionally.

He doesn't fly often, but does enjoy heights quite a bit. He's a bit of a clarivoyant little cookie, and has a talent for catching omens and planning ahead pretty well. People usually assume he's lucky, but really he's just cosmically cheating.

Mars’ childhood was pretty perfect, for the first few years. He lived a happy healthy life with his parents and his little puppy dog Sparky and spent a lot of time playing with his older sister Aster, who somehow, by showing him her silly teen-magazine horoscopes, ended up being the one that got him interested in astrology, astronomy, and the universe in general.

When his sister left for the army however, he was incredibly heartbroken and confused. They had been very close, and she had never even mentioned wanting to leave, so her sudden desition seemed to come out of nowhere one morning, and that afternoon she was gone. His father didn't seem to want to even talk about her after she left, and all connections to her were cut. Mars had tried to contact her a couple of times, only to be told that he could not contact her, or talk to or about her, anymore.

His relationship with his father deteriorated horribly and immediately. Lots of resentment, confusion and anger started festering in little Marcellin, and his only real escape and coping method was to totally throw himself in his hobbies. It was during his research on some particular astronomical phenomenon he had happened to read about in the news, that he stumbled upon the world of magic. He jumped at the idea almost immediately, diving deep into divinity and the occult and being absolutely fascinated by anything and everything he managed to learn. As it turns out, Mars had quite a talent for magic, and he advanced quicly and remarcably during the following months

When his father found out however, he flipped his shit. They had a horrible argument, that quicly turned into a very one-sided shouting match. His father livid and irrational, and as much as Mars was a very confrontational and hot-headed, he was still a kid, so shit got bad pretty ugly. His mother tried to intervene, but it only worked to anger his father even more. By the end of the evening, Mars had found himself kicked out of his house, with no idea what the fuck had just happened.

His first instinct was to try to reach out to his sister, which he sadly didn't manage to do. He still however had an emergency number that she had given him before she left, saying that it was a close friend of hers who could help if he ever needed it. The "close friend" turned out to be their half-sister, Elena, a half-human Draltur that had contacted his sister years prior, but wanted to stay away to avoid causing any unnecesary drama to their family

Elena immediately flew over to pick him up, and explained how their father had a history of being kind of an asshole, and that she had asked Aster to keep her number accesible to both of them, in case he pulled any bullshit. He then explained how Aster had also been kicked out before, but had decided to join the army instead of staying with Elena. She didn't have her current contact information, but promised to look for it. After getting to know eachother for a bit, Elena noticed Mars' apparent talent with magic and interest in the subject, so she mentioned how her brother (his half-brother?) happened to be a pretty good witch, and had actually been a teacher in the past, and offered to take Mars to meet him.

aand that's the story of how Mars ended up in Nick's doorstep, asking him to teach him magic, not knowing Nick not only knew that he had any siblings other than Elena, but didn't even know their father was even alive. So that was a fun meltdown.
