Eizo Kozato

Eizo Kozaro, also known as the Metallic Hero: Iron Will, is a student in Class 3-B at U.A. High School, currently interning with Vlad King on his path to become a Pro-Hero and clear his name of the past tainted by his villain parents.

Appearance

Eizo has a lot of muscle and is very tall, standing at 6'4", adding to the intimidation factor he has, alongside the permanent, bad case of resting bitch face he naturally has. He either always looks as if he's scowling or sometimes just looks monotone/emotionless even though he doesn't feel that way. His hair is black in color, though almost seems blue in some lighting, and is long enough to reach down towards his knees, wo pieces coming down either side of his face to his chest and his bangs styled back and out of his face. His eyes are a dark, murky yellow. On is face he has two scars, one on his cheek that he got in a fight (not telling anyone it was with his father as a child) and an almost nonvisible one on his eyebrow that put a permanent cut in it.

Personality

Eizo is a violent, dangerous person people need to be wary around. He'll start fights with other students, glaring at people for no reason, never speaking a word, and likes to bully others....at least, that's what a lot people would tell you what Eizo is like, based on rumors, assumptions, and first glances.

While Eizo does have a very bad case of resting bitch face, he isn't at all like rumors have made him out to be. To those who have gotten close to him and know him, he is known to be a gentle giant ((or in some cases a teddy bear)). He likes to help others and be there for them, even when he hasn't been asked to and now matter the task, and treats others with a great deal of respect. It's true he doesn't speak often, however this is because of a stutter he's always had and is embarrassed by, so he avoids speaking in anything other that short, curt answers. He has a great deal of determination, which drives him towards his goal of being a hero, however one of his greatest fears of ending up a villain like his parents could do that too. Because of his great deal of kindness and people pleasing ways, as well as not understanding things like friendships a great deal, he can sometimes be a big push over, doing pretty much anything anyone asks, within reason, without questioning it. He also likes to make sure to try and encourage others, as he never knew what that was like a lot of the time growing up.

History

Eizo had an...interesting life growing up as he did. His parents always seemed to care for him, though he rarely went out into public with them and there were times where the two would be gone very long periods of a few days or for late nights. Unbeknownst to him at such a young age was that both of his parents were a paired team of villains who were well known for a lot of the crimes they committed. And while they never truly hid this fact from him, sometimes even trying to encourage him into the life style when his quirk became apparent, Eizo hadn't paid enough attention or didn't understand it much growing up. As far as he was aware, this was a normal childhood to him and he had nothing to complain about. At age 8 is when everything for him began to change.

At this age was when the Heroes and the law finally caught up to his parents, the two being found at their home and finally being arrested for the villainous deeds they had committed. It was then that Eizo was picked up by them and placed into the foster system, as the two had no other family that would be able to care for the child. While he had been able to visit his parents in the prison institute they were placed in, life for him became difficult without his parents caring for him.

Because of the popularity status of his parents, it was no surprise that the media was constantly after Eizo trying to get more information on them, on his childhood, on what he thought of all this. And at 8 years old, something like his parents being arrested was already hard to handle, let alone being embarrassed by media. Alongside this was the major bullying he faced from other kids. His face and name were plastered everywhere, everyone spoke about him, so kids finding him out and bullying him over the fact that not only were his parents villains, but had been arrested, and making jeers at him that he would be a villain were only a matter of time. There was only one kid who was kind to him and never listened to what anyone else said about him, and that was Aiko Orihara, his childhood friend. The harassment began to bleed further into his life as many of the foster families that took him in, at least 5 or 6, brought him back into the system. Unable to handle the constant media badgering them and their children for questions on him, a stress no family seemed to want to put up with. Being pushed back and forth, the bullying from others, the looks and whispers he received, Eizo slowly got used to them all as he grew up. He began to close in on himself, become quiet, and simply accept anything as it came to him. He simply learned to just let them go and either accept them or to just not care. It wasn't until his current foster mother, a lone woman who opened up her home to him, that media finally left him alone (after she went mama bear on them and told them all to leave him alone), and he was finally truly cared for. She took him in as her own, treated him with such love and compassion, and he finally felt accepted somewhere, calling her mom and the two becoming a true family.

As Eizo grew into his own, his years at school were spent mostly alone, as many people avoided him. Whether it was his intimidating, resting angry or emotionless features, the rumors that surrounded him, the fights he'd get into (that others always started but because he never spoke up, they blamed him and he got the trouble for it), there was always something to keep the kids talking or avoiding him. Which he didn't truly mind, as he preferred to be alone a lot of the time, other than spending time with Aiko or the rare occasion of a teacher or staff not disliking or avoiding him and letting him help with tasks. It was in his first year of middle school that he began to entertain the idea of wanting to actually become a hero. Spacing himself more away from his parents and seeing other kids talking about their futures, he began to realize he could take such a path away from his parent. Reinvent himself. Do something good with his life. And so, he made his plans to wok his way towards his goal; UA. Right as he was about to take the exam, he visited his parents for what would be the last time. He didn't waste any time in telling his parents his plans, the discussion breaking out into a huge fight in which his parents demeaned him for wanting to betray them like that, wanting to become "a hero", and further telling him he wouldn't make it. Not allowing himself to be discouraged for something he wanted, he left and hasn't spoken to his parents since.

The exam for UA went off without a hitch, albeit being a lot more than he thought it was going to be, and waited with his foster mother with baited breath for the results. When they finally came in, the two sat together and opened the letter, it announcing that Eizo had passed and would be attending UA Academy at the beginning of the school year. The two shared a hug and cried in happiness at the news.

The years at UA were hard, not exactly getting the entire reinventing he wanted as some still remembered him and rumors spread again, and his looks didn't help. But it was much more toned down than what he had experienced previously, as there was no time for things such as that with the goal they all had in mind. However, the pro-heroes that were the teachers were much more accepting and encouraging of him, especially those that knew of his parents and saw the boy as wanting to do something opposite to what they were. The most encouraging was his first year teacher, Vlad King. One who saw a great potential in him and always sough to encourage and push him further, later on Eizo requesting to become his side kick, moved by how much his teacher had cared and him being Eizo's favorite hero as well. Keeping to his work, staying optimistic as much as he could, he's continued down his path and is just a short stretch to his goal; becoming a hero everyone can be proud of and to break the chains of his past that bind him.

Abilities

Quirk

Iron Manipulation: Iron Manipulation allows for Eizo to control the metal material, no matter what shape or form it's in, within a 30 meter radius of where he is currently at. Controlling it with his mind, a part picked up from his mother's telekinesis quirk, he can make it float and move about him as needed. However, the most use of his quirk is his ability to change irons state of matter from solid to a liquid, a part picked up from his father's metal manipulation quirk. With this ability, he can change iron to a liquid and reshape it into any weapon or item he pleases, turning it into a solid for his use, as fast as he pleases. He can do this multiple times. Example; Using the chains from his hero outfit and reshaping them into a shield or covering parts of his body for armor. Because of this, he almost always wears some kind of iron chain, even out of his hero costume.

Relationships

Family

Fumiko Kozato: First his foster mother, then later his adoptive mother, and the only actual mother he feels he has ever had. Fumiko was the first out of 7 foster families to make him feel genuinely loved, only wanting the best for him and letting him be his own person. She has a sharp tongue and a mama bear temper for him that he describes as almost frightening, as he saw for the first time when she scared off news reporters and hasn't been bothered since. She treated Eizo as if he was her very own and has been there since the moment he was born. He calls her "Ma" and replaced his last name with her own when it was decided she would adopt him. She's been the most major source of encouragement in his life and never lets him doubt how proud she is of him and all his accomplishments.

Civilians

Jordyn Naomi Peters-Ushijima: While its been some time since he's seen her, only reconnecting just recently, Eizo originally met Jordyn during his years in foster care. She and her mother ran the orphange/foster care home in which he was placed into. He's only ever seen her as a very kind and caring person who has the best interest of all the kids at heart. While he was shut off from almost everyone, keeping to himself and staying quiet, Jordyn had always seemed to be there when he was feeling his lowest and made him feel better, making some of the worst parts of his years bearable. He didn't see her again after his last foster mother and later adoptive mother took him in and re-met her years later when he began to date Satomi, whom she and her family were good friends with her, and secretly is really thankful and happy to be able to see her again.

UA High School

Ayato Mifune (1-A): A kouhai at UA and actually met him and his older sister, whom he'd later begin dating, around the same time. Not understanding social connections, familial sibling connections and just, well, Ayato's personality, the friendship between them started as him hanging out with them and teasing Ayato by Satomi's recommendation (though he didn't realize it was teasing at the time and was just doing as she asked because he's a people pleaser). Ayato never seemed to mind it, always seeming somewhat fascinated by Eizo, and the two became friends very quickly (although this teasing got more rumors spread about him as people thought he was bullying the younger boy). He trusts in Ayato probably a bit more than he should but thinks he's a good enough kid with a good head on his shoulders, just a little bit eccentric. But, hey, he's a good friend and cares about him, and Eizo feels likewise.

Aiko Orihara (1-A): She was the first friend he ever truly had growing up as a kid, the first person who actually cared about him and never judged him for anything of his past or appearance. He considers her like that of a little sister and is protective and encouraging of her as such.

Satomi Mifune (3-A): Eizo's very first and current girlfriend. The two were simply acquaintances for the longest time during their school years, knowing her brother more than her in the beginning as the two never truly interacted until their third year. Through the few instances of crossing paths, teasing her brother for her, and spending more time around her, he developed a crush on her, attracted to her strong personality, but struggled to even tell her, as he was deathly afraid to ruin her image with his own. But despite some bumps in the road, with her finally telling him to stop worrying about his status among others, he was able to confess, to which she accepted, and he fell for her hard.

Pro-Heroes

Sekijiro Kan (Vlad King): A hero who has nothing but Eizo's full respect and admiration, almost being like that of a father figure to him. Vlad King was his homeroom teacher in Eizo's first year and took a special interest in Eizo due to knowing his past, the rumors that surround him, and despite that saw a determined and fighting spirit within him. With a Quirk working in a similar fashion, he took Eizo under his wing to give him special training and keep the hero flame in him lit, including taking on his Work Studies and later giving him an Intern spot at his Hero Agency.

Koji Ushijima (Momentus): Being a 3rd year teacher at UA, he's been able to interact with the hero often for training sessions, and actually met with him once in his first year, Koji being one of the few teachers to seek him out and express his availability to him if he ever needed it. He was the select few who truly encouraged him on his hero path. However, he's gotten to see him more often as he's with Jordyn and is a friend of Satomi's and her family's. He sees Koji as a very bright person, taking his hero work close to his heart, and wanting to fuel the dreams of all of those who want to take the path he as. Eizo has an admiration for him in that regard.

Villains

Jack Augusta (Gauntlet): Eizo's biological father but Eizo doesn't consider him at all any kind of family. The two do not get along at all, in fact hating each other's guts. He has nothing but bad and traumatic memories with his father and mother and found life a lot easier and better once they had cut contact. He hasn't seen him since he told them he was going to UA to become a hero and he prefers it stay that way.

Sora Orime (Collective): Eizo's biological mother but Eizo doesn't consider her at all any kind of family. His memories of his mother as a child are far less imprinted than those of his father. He remembers her only being a cold woman who have little to no motherly instinct for her son and allowed Jack to train him as he wished. She was always very quite, uncaring, and seemed somber for the most part. She had less of an outburst at his news of UA than his father had. The only good thing she ever did for Eizo was tell the authority of his being at their home when they were arrested so he at least would be taken care of. He hasn't see her since he told them he was going to UA and prefers it that way.

Trivia

  • He's often seen in the library, helping sort and put away books for the librarian, or in Recovery Girl's office, helping her restock it or run errands for her.
  • His mother has a Telekinesis quirk and his father had the quirk of being able to manipulate metal he touched. Their marriage was for the purpose of making a kid with both quirks, resulting in Eizo.
  • Because someone did it to him as a kid, Eizo associates things like head and shoulder pats to mean "It's okay" or "It's gonna be okay", so after helping someone or after a misunderstanding, he'll usually give a person a head or shoulder pat before leaving.
  • Eizo has very fast reflexes, able to dodge and block many things, or catch things thrown at/to him. So if someone throws themselves at him or tries jumping into his arms, 10/10 times he WILL catch you ((and this does happen quite a bit)).
  • While the chains on his hero outfit are for him to use with his Quirk, they're also meant to be symbolic of his connection with his parents, his history, the rumors, etc and almost always has on iron chain bracelets and chains added to his belt, for emergencies if he's in need of iron.
  • The chains of his hero outfit are made of heavy irons, which make him slower as they weigh him down, however it makes for a lot material he can use, as well as give him greater speed later when taking them off.
  • Eizo's worse fear is that if he doesn't become a hero, he'll somehow end up as a villain like his parents, and he never wants to be one.
  • His look of being disheveled and not caring is another misconception of him. He doesn't wear his tie because he doesn't know how to tie one, and his jacket isn't closed because it doesn't fit right but he doesn't want to bother anyone to get a new one.
