Personality:
Peridot has a very happy-go-lucky, mellow attitude about life, but doesn't go out of the way to say more than she needs to. She's prone to dozing off, often using Opal as a pillow -- but when the situation comes down to it, she's remarkably loyal and dedicated to a task.
Background:
Peridot is a hardworking trainer from the region of Mimoza, who was born and raised in Coveair's seaside lighthouse. While the Ampharos there guided saliors back from sea, Peridot was responsible for caring for the Mareep, tending to their wool with her clumsy hands. While not particular book-smart, she knows a thing or two about mechanical ends of things, helping her father with and repairs that the lighthouse required [especially in the event that the Ampharos could not perform their duties].
When she turned 16, her parents allowed Peridot to travel the world with her trusty companion Opal, one of the many Mareep that Peridot raised. When she went to Corona to sign up, she became acquainted with several trainers -- Margot, Rick, Mozart, and Jill -- who she would end up adventuring on and off with. As a trainer, Peridot excels in training her pokemon not only to endure hits, but also valued the innate abilities that her pokemon had in their base form. As such, Peridot never evolved any of her pokemon, loving them for who they are.
Other Info:
- Her hands are deft and clumsy due to handling the shock prone wool of Mareep over the years, but she's rather nimble with her feet when the time calls for it.
- She enjoys music, playing flutes for the fun of it -- but not necessarily from being good at the art. Mozart's given her practice lessons on the occasion.
- Her stocky build allows her to take hits and even fight alongside her pokemon when the situation calls for it -- even taking blows for her pokemon when faced against the notorious Team Sprocket.
- Her Pokemon include Opal [Mareep], Pockets [Doduo], Lil' Sunshine [Sunkern], Butters [Corphish], Nageki [Pidove], Achi [Gulpin], Elvis [Roggenrola], Smores [Zigzagoon], Geary [Klink], and a wayward Drifloon that she kept for a short time.
- Of these, her signature pokemon was Opal and Lil' Sunshine -- the latter due to his ability to use Mimic, a move taught to him after Peridot had beat a Ditto-based gym.
