Raised by a single father after her mother passed away when she was young, Courtney has lived a wildly privileged life. She's never wanted for anything material, and while she wasn't spoiled in the way that many rich kids are by their parents, her personality gave her that disposition. Despite her family's wealth, she's attended public schools because her father wanted her to be able to blend in with all classes of people. Her father taught her discipline and how to take care of herself. After her mother passed, she did have a nanny and they had a maid, she was still taught to function like a normal person and cook, clean, and do things on her own, without someone waiting on her hand and foot.

In school, she had friends, though they were wholly superficial friendships built on bullying others and keeping other girls in line. During middle school, she met was classmates with Phoenix and Gwen and immediately butted heads with the former for not giving in to her behavior and control. This started off a feud that lasted their entire school career, especially since Courtney started going after Phoenix's then, and current, boyfriend, Kyle. In reality, she was drawn to him because he's Garou and has BSD lineage, but it presented itself to a normal person as typical female battling for a partner.

Courtney lives alone, though still shares a close relationship with her father. She has a pretty high public profile as a socialite and party girl, but she sometimes can go weeks without being seen or heard from (this is the result of a blossoming bipolar disorder gifted to her by her personal totem - it's undiagnosed). She has a viciously cruel streak and, 'off camera' eagerly gives in to her BSD nature. Many people she parties with and takes home or, playing nice, offers to return them to their home, are never seen or heard from again.
