Profile
On the planet of Rixile, there exist ten gods.
The deity of the Water element, Mist is said to be in tune with people's spirits, which comes forth as emotions. It's said that the ocean is affected by Mist's own feelings in turn. Mist is a mighty huntress and always looks out for her people in times of crisis. A peacekeeper, she has a knack for finding compromises to arguments.
Mist's territory has always been populated by the largest animals on the planet, some of them vicious carnivores. Her people regard this as a blessing, and are often raised as hunters in Mist's own image in order to take down these beasts and use every part of them for their greater communities.
Because of the whole "hunting animals" thing, Mist has always had a hard time getting along with Terra. Despite all odds, Ignus, her neighbor, known conqueror, and effective opposite, is her strongest ally.
She hasn't shown herself for centuries, but her people can feel her in the life-giving flow of the water cycle, and in their own rich inner sea of emotion. Her symbol represents a water droplet.
- In Rixile lore, the element of Water is considered chaotic and foundational--chaotic in that it is transient and mutable, as the ocean pauses for no mortal, and foundational in that the cycles of the planet create life with it.
- The other chaotic elements are Dark, Thunder, Fire, and Air, while the only other foundational element is Earth, thus considered Mist's opposite.
Additional Worldbuilding Information:
Race: Aquatones
Aquatones are built for the water, possessing webbed digits, smooth skin, and two sets of eyelids. Their blue skin has blotchy spots meant to act as disruptive coloration while swimming. Though mammals like all the rest of the races, they have the highest lung capacity, and can stay underwater for hours at a time. With their sharp teeth, tall stature, and beady dark eyes, their appearance can be frightening to some, but to others they can come across as even goofy. Their flesh is apparently poisonous (not that anyone's eating them).
Territory: Shim-Dewrias
Shim-Dewrias is a surprisingly temperate and breezy country for the "water" race, but the large network of lakes, rivers, and springs keeps the land hydrated and allows aquaculture to flourish. Shim-Dewrias, for the most part, freely allows foreign settlements to integrate with their way of life, though this behavior makes nearby Magna Pyra paranoid of spies.
Sanctuary: Grand Edeqri
Edeqri lies past the western forests of Shim-Dewrias and opens way to the largest portion of the territory’s many lakes. The main lake of Edeqri is said to reflect the inner world of the person looking into it. While this seems like a more benign effect compared to other, more dangerous sanctuaries, swimming is strictly prohibited by the natives.
