Summary

❁  Gentle, thoughtful, impressionable  ❁

Emile is a kind-hearted young sheep who always hopes of overcoming his nerves and gullibility.

Appearance

Emile has a soft, curly coat of white wool, and a thick, curly head of grey wool "hair". He doesn't have too much wool covering his body, just enough to provide him a comfortable natural coat for the colder seasons. His "hair" grows rather quickly and he needs it trimmed every week or so. He has dark grey hooves (with opposable thumbs). He has long-ish ears that stick out of his hair, and a short woolly tail. He has a round, youthful face with big blue eyes, thick grey eyebrows, a little pink nose, and a small mouth. When not in school uniform, he likes to wear comfy, casual clothes. His brown turtleneck sweater with a 1/4 zip is his favourite article of clothing, and he always wears it, weather-prevailing. He can often be seen in short trousers, knee-high black wool socks (made from "family sourced wool"- it's exactly what you think), and red trainers. Emile is a rather small sheep for his age, being only 5'2".

Personality

Emile is courteous, empathetic, amicable... and often, a little paranoid. He is not the best at making new friends, and is oftentimes more comfortable with small talk. But, if you show him respect, he will treat you like you're his best friend. He is a non-threatening and well-faring student who achieves impressive scores in school. But, when it comes to being social, Emile prefers to keep his head down. He is rather insecure, and dislikes making choices. He would rather follow directions than make his own rules. He is quick to trust others, and is quite gullible. He takes things very literally. Now that he's in his late teens, Emile strives to conquer his nerves and become a confident, more self-reliant sheep. Luckily, his relationship with Lockhart has certainly stunted that kind of growth.

Story

Emile's story takes place somewhere in South England.

Emile grew up in a quiet little home. His parents, Agnès and Howard, were always very nurturing towards their only son and treated him very responsibly. As a child, Emile barely ever cried, threw tantrums, or caused trouble; as his parents say with much gratefulness, his gentleness has always been around.

Emile spent lots of his childhood indoors reading and making up worlds in his own imagination, but always enjoyed going outdoors. He's had a knack for hiking and exploring, as the cottage he grew up in in the countryside was a little walk away from enormous open fields and woods. He's always had a sense of curiosity about forests, and continues to feel peaceful whenever in or around that kind of environment.

Although not an extremely dedicated student, Emile always excelled in his studies. He has a natural talent for English and sciences. Once he turned eleven, Emile's parents realised that he needed a more comprehensive and important education compared to that he was receiving in his little nearby school. They boarded and enrolled him in a grammar school some ways away from home. He wasn't opposed to the idea, actually feeling very proud and interested to achieve his dream of being a writer through a fancy boarding school.

But of course, being from a family that wasn't as wealthy as others, he faced some loneliness and ostracism at his new school. Many of the other students were from families that had manors and valets, while Emile had only heard about that kind of wealth in books. His only real friend was Frederick Lockhart, the deer he shared a hall with when he first boarded. At first the two didn't get along very well, Emile thinking Lockhart was very pompous and stuck up, but eventually the two found what they had in common and bonded over the things they both enjoyed.

Frederick Lockhart

Emile's friend who he shares a flat in halls with. Though the two started off on rocky grounds, the two of them ended up being quite close friends. Emile is sort of intimidated by Lockhart's status, but still maintains a good relationship with him. Lockhart can be blunt, and Emile always takes his words to heart; however, Emile is quite sure that Lockhart is correct in what he says and does. After all, he's not a popular student for nothing, right? Emile only calls him by his last name. Upon their first meeting, Lockhart was extremely insistent to only call him by his last name, and Emile has been careful to follow that rule. He's not keen to find out what the consequences will be.

Trivia

  • Legally, his first name has an accented "e" (Émile), but he prefers to go without it and avoid complications.
  • Emile had braces for five years, which were taken off shortly after his 17th birthday.
  • His mother uses his old wool from haircuts to make his sweaters and socks. He hasn't ever really decided whether that's weird or resourceful... but he wears them anyway.
  • His zodiac sign is Aries, and his lunar zodiac sign is (x).
  • His voiceclaim is (x). (His voice would be rather soft-spoken and gentle, and slightly high-pitched. He'd have a middle-class southern accent)
