Ellie Walker's Links
[Related] Ellie is Gil's younger sister, and she's always admired him. Part of the reason she became a cop was because of him! He always talked about their grandfather, but she was simply too young to remember much about him, let alone feel the same admiration. When she chose to marry Justis, she knew this wouldn't sit well with Gil, but she didn't think he'd disown her! It was perhaps the worst day of her life.
[Related] But only by blood. Gil is Ellie's older brother. He cherished her and hoped only the best for her, but the minute he heard she fell in love with a mob boss he couldn't stand it. Once she chose the mobster over family, he cut ties with her. To think that a POLICE OFFICER could so easily become this corrupt... it showed Gil how horrible the system was, and he left it to become a private eye.
[Related] According to her family, Ellie's biological dad left a little after she was born. By the time her grandfather disappeared, Cecil came to help out, eventually becoming her step-father. Now HE was the one she admired the most and looked up to. Everything she did was a copy of what she saw from him! It broke her heart when she had to leave him behind for Justis, though.
[Related] When Jey disappeared Cecil tried to help out in any way he could. Eventually he fell in love with Ellie's mother and married her, becoming the two's step-dad. He was happy with how they turned out up until Ellie's decision on marrying into a mob. Though it wasn't something he approved of, it wasn't something he could condemn her for. After all, his nephew is a world-renowned thief.
[Related] Ellie had always heard stories about her grandfather, but had very few memories of him. She was too young to be too effected by his disappearance, at least on the same magnitude as her brother. Sometimes, though, she wishes she could meet him. He was talked about in such high regards that he must have been a great man.
[Related] Jey always found his granddaughter absolutely adorable. And adventurous! If he as much as looked away for a second he'd turn around and find her gone! She always came close to giving him heart attacks with her stunts. She would have had a great future, he was always sure of.
[Related] Don's mother. Ellie always noticed her son, despite his size, was perhaps the most gentle in the family. He always showed some form of discomfort when it came to everyone's rowdiness, but would follow them around nonetheless. She's aware of it, but she isn't sure what to do about it. Her brother would know, though...
[Related] Ellie's son. Don wishes he could be more open about his discomfort with the mob life, but as much as he trusts his mother, it's hard to consider her a confidant in the situation, since she chose the life herself. Still, he knows that his uncle is in law enforcement, so maybe...
[Related] Carmen is almost an exact copy of her father, it absolutely baffles Ellie. The only difference she can see is that Carmen's a bit louder, while Justis can sometimes hide his mischievous thoughts with a calm expression. She's a handful all right, but Ellie loves her daughter.
[Related] Ellie's daughter. Carmen looks up to her mom just as she looks up to her dad. The only thing she can't process is how she doesn't understand the joy of bowling; at least there's always someone on snack duty, then.
[Lovers] Ellie originally tried her best to arrest Justis, but the guy was just stupidly strong! Half the time he would BREAK out of her handcuffs! And he had the gall to FLIRT with her at the same time?! GROSS! ... But somehow he did SOMETHING right for her to end up falling in love with him. But don't tell him that!
[Lovers] Justis certainly hadn't planned on falling in love with the cop who was determined to bring him in, but when the cop was such a charming, cute strong-willed woman? Well, how could he not? The flirting and teasing meant to catch her off her game quickly changed into genuine feelings and a proposal.
[Related] Nobutaka Deguichi, otherwise known as the Great White Tiger. He's more infamous than Justis, and he's WAY scarier than him too. All those rumors Ellie had heard in the precinct were true, he's got scars all over him like tiger stripes! He's absolutely terrifying, and yet... he's just a loud, obnoxious partier like her husband!!
[Related] Ellie's father-in-law. Taka always thought Justis was joking about marrying a cop, didn't think it'd actually happen! Although he's still not convinced a little dame like Ellie is REALLY a cop. She's a firecracker, though, and it seems like his son authentically likes her, so she's got his seal of approval.
[Related] Colette is Ellie's mother-in-law, though if she's being honest, she still can't believe it. Seeing Nobutaka, Justis himself, and even their child Carmen, just how is he related to someone so calm and soft-spoken like Colette???
[Related] Ellie is Colette's daughter-in-law. She was a bit concerned when she first heard that Justis had fallen for a police officer, but seeing how happy she made him, her fears were quickly put aside. She knows what it's like to lose family, though perhaps not in the same way that Ellie did. She treats Ellie just as much as a daughter as any mother would.
[Related] Although not blood related, Ellie considers Jackson an uncle, especially with his relation to her step-dad. She'd always heard stories about him, meeting him in person gave her some form of shellshock. He doesn't seem to be a bigtime thief anymore, much to her relief, because she's not sure if she could handle trying to catch him. Or if she even COULD.
[Related] Jackson is like an uncle to Ellie, though not by blood. When he came out of his coma-like state, he was surprised to find his uncle had married, and to the family of the detective that once hunted him down! It seems, though, that Ellie more grew up with Cecil's influence, so Jackson gets quite the nostalgia trip whenever he talks to her.
