Disclaimer: I am not claiming to own the idea of or be the creator of "anthropomorphic planes" or dragon airplane hybrids.

I only created a specific style of them and that style is 100% open to the public to enjoy and use.

You can simply just make an anthro plane, call it an an anthro plane, and not be associated with my species, because I do not own the concept.

And not to mention they are a 100% open species you can do pretty much anything you want with! The whole purpose is to have a fun style and community to work with - when at the time anthro planes that weren't aeromorphs were incredibly rare or basically did not exist. Now, many aesthetic styles of anthro planes exist, so please don't worry about making your own without any association to these guys.

I also do NOT care if people use the name airplane dragon for themselves and not "credit" me. It is not "mine." It is public open use and for all to enjoy. It's literally airplane and dragon put together.

Basically the main purpose of calling it an airplane dragon is to be connected to the community and was originally used as a descriptor of my original style for them. This is entirely optional. Do whatever you want and have fun!

 What ARE plane dragons?
Airplane dragons / plane dragons, are a species I made back in 2014-2015. I always liked the idea of anthropomorphic planes (or just, anthro machines or vehicles and other weird examples of anthropomorphization), but most of the content around it were a very specific niche community (aeromorphs. remember this was back in early 2010s.)  More stylized, cute version of anthro planes were extremely rare. I designed airplane dragons in an attempt to make a more appealing anthro plane that was accessible to everyone who liked the idea, and to inspire others to make similar designs. Airplane dragons were designed as a free open species from the start, with unlimited design options so you can make them however you want.

There are several categories of plane dragons to inspire you:

  • the average plane dragon, referred to with "airplane" or "plane", most common type
  • propeller, which have propeller noses!
  • jet plane dragons, which are designed for speed. might be more angular looking, rather than rounded and soft. they love racing and have competitive personalities!
  • airbus which are more stocky, and love to transport humans
  • concorde based on the real life iconic concorde plane, a rare type
  • maritime, or sea planes which can also land on sea and usually stick to the coasts.
  • delivery, or mail carriers which can look like any other type, but travel worldwide more often and work closely with humans, like airbus
  • rotorcraft, which are more like helicopters
  • military, which are inspired by real life military planes. please note that no airplane dragon has EVER been used by the military or for any related violent purposes. it is still okay to be inspired by the aesthetics and designs of these aircraft and make your character based on it. military airplane dragons exist in canon due to a few scientists simply having an interest in the aesthetics of certain aircraft. They are one of the rarest types. I hope you make these kinds of airplane dragons responsibly.

What is the world of plane dragons like?

Please note that this canon is entirely optional and just for fun, you do not have to use your plane dragon within this setting/story.

Plane dragons were "created" to help humans, on an alternate universe Earth.

They were originally created by a team of talented scientists from around the world - Dr. Kabugho from Uganda, the lead of the team, Dr. Alvarado from Chile, Dr. Moore from Australia, Dr. Andreassen from Norway, Dr. Nakamura from United States, Dr. Massoud from Libya, and Dr. Tsai from Taiwan. The original airplane dragon is known as Prototype! These scientists met each other online roleplaying forums when in high school/college, became lifelong friends, and eventually met in person to discuss ideas they had to help the world, which lead to the creation of the first airplane dragon.

The society of plane dragons is happy and peaceful, and they have infinite resources to share with each other. They live on, sleep on, and eat clouds! (though they also love cotton candy which is given to them as gifts by humans). That means every plane dragon always has something to eat and have water (as it's.. all in the same food source) and a place to live comfortably. They help humans by transporting them, delivering mail or other supplies like food, aiding in construction, all sorts of things - all of these are fun for them as they enjoy any chance they get to fly! While it is work, it is natural for them to want to fly (they get incredibly antsy when they don't fly for long periods of time) and they have happy to help. Not all airplane dragons work with humans, they can just chose to be on their own. Since they emit almost zero emissions, they are safe for the environment and over time as they became more popular, helped lower emissions and create more peace for the world. Over a few decades, emissions have been lowered by 80%, and all humans have access to water and food due to their timely worldwide transportation, and the need for airline corporations has almost diminished.

What about the Dragons themselves? Airplane dragons are "mechanical", but they are also living at the same time. They are "robots" in a sense but they are alive and with an organic consciousness (or you can say they have a soul if you prefer). Some may be covered in fur and feel like a living animals.

Plane dragons love racing and sometimes have competitive personalities. They live in the skies most of the time until they are summoned, and are happiest when in groups together or when hanging out with human friends. Usually, a single plane dragon will help multiple humans depending on what they choose to do, but a single dragon may be assigned to a person, like helping someone with a disability and/or a specific job - like mail delivery, food delivery, construction, etc. Overall, they have a positive relationship with humans and the planet, and while there are still many problems in their world, they have been helping to solve these problems slowly over time and look to a bright future.

 Can I make one?
Yep! They are an open species, meaning you do not have to pay or get permission to make one yourself. You can make as many as you would like, commission others to design them for you, make ones for friends. You can use the species in worldbuilding projects, stories, comics, and so on, and adapt/change it to your own rules and ideas

What are the rules or specifics of designing one?
There are no strict rules or limitations to designing an airplane dragon. They are meant to be very open to allow you to design it with all your favorite preferences. Like big claws or little paws? Like commercial airliners or fast jet planes? Or maybe something different like a space shuttle or helicopter? Want it based on an animal? Chubby or buff? Any colors, markings, body types, shapes are allowed.

There is really only one rule. PLEASE avoid any designs that could be intentionally or unintentionally offensive or hateful.
Do not use symbols relating to Nazi symbols (Iron Cross, Bar Cross) or designs of Nazi planes for your plane dragon. Basing them on vague, COMPLETELY NONRELATED military-styled / inspired aircraft may be fine, as long as it is in good faith. This has happened in the past and why I have to make this clear.

Can I profit off of them / use commercially?
Yes! You can make adoptables, auction designs, taken commissions, or create merch of them. You can credit me in merch description / listings, but this is optional.

 How big are they?
Any size you like, there is not a set size. They can be sized like a human, or like a real life plane. Most airplane dragons are about the same size as a human or slightly larger (though with different proportions of course) and at a minimum can carry at least one human if needed. There are a few that are the size of real life planes, and used for large scale transportation.

What can I use them for?
You can draw art of them, write stories, roleplay, sell adoptables, custom bases, and YCHs, 3D models and avatars, make and sell merchandise like stickers/pins, they are COMPLETELY open for use!

 How can I credit you?
Credit is entirely optional. If you would like, a simple "species made by scpkid" is enough. I am no longer the "owner" of the species as it is open source, but I am okay with being credited as the original creator.

Can I use them for nsfw or kink content?
I have no issues with your airplane dragon characters being used for NSFW / kink content. But please be mindful that people of all ages enjoy airplane dragons and may google search them, so please tag and rate the art appropriately.
